Picked this up... $120. Kids gonna be huge

I heard he may be over 16...questions about his true age may come out. He looks over 18.

With that said, we'll know in a few years if it's a good deal or not.

He's still in high school though in NYC

I live in NYC...kids can get into any HS without proper documentation of their age...it happens.

Oh I see. But would that even hurt the value of the card if he lied about his age?

Well, his reputation could be in question. Basically, you're a varsity player destroying pitching of kids 2 or 3 years younger...not too impressive.

If it's a steal or not, the jury is still out with all the "16 and under" autos...need to wait a few years to find out.

Personally, I would stay away and invest in other REAL 16 and under guys...

Yeah, like a kid hasn't lied about his age to get signed before.
Adrian Beltre, Miguel Tejada, that one pitcher on that little league team, etc.

And where is he now...bagging groceries somewhere?

My whole point is that there are better investments out there than this kid...reputation is everything and if he lied about his age...what else could be be lying about....

Not a steal. Perhaps a decent investment though, if the hype builds and it's not revealed that he's actually 20.

That is a bit of a leap don't you think. To the O.P., nice pick up and a solid investment regardless of his age. A fast, power hitting catcher, with a rocket arm is sure to do well in the draft.
