What a great day yesterday was to be a Boston sports fan, from the cold windy confines of Fenway Park and a comeback win over the Indians and Terry Franconia, to the raucous TD Garden and series clincher over the NY Rangers!

The Bruins were simply to much for 'The King' and his court! They from the opening whistle took it to NY and played the physical and determined game necessary to succeed in the NHL playoffs.

Watching the Bruins bench in the 3rd period you could see that they 'smelled' the victory and would not lose on home ice, it was pretty funny watching Thornton and Dorsett after every whistle, and when on their respective benches continue to jaw at each other the entire game, and true to form shake hands at center ice after all was said and done! I love the game of Hockey and it's rich traditions!!

Bring on the Pens, this will be a tough series but the Bruins physical play and their edge in Goal will lead them to the Eastern Conference Championship!!

WE ARE BOSTON STRONG!

GO B'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an amazing effort by the Bruins tonight, only two complaints, that Marchand did not get a hat trick and Tuukka came a shot away from another shutout!!

It's efforts like this that show just how well Claude has prepared this team for this series, and the return of Ference has been a welcome addition on the backline.

Nice to be headed back home with two wins, keep up the good work B's and continue to play suffocating 'D'!!

Tuukka has played exceptional with this game being far easier, the Pens still have issues in Goal, and as I had predicted Vokoun was a good story but has run his course, he will be back in Goal Wed., as he still gives them the best chance to pick up a win.

Hope for another strong effort Wed. night at home, the Garden will be rocking!

WE ARE BOSTON STRONG

I'd love it if the organist could play "The Rains of Castamere" as the Pens take the ice on Wednesday...

I've got to keep this thread alive as I started it at the beginning of the season, and the B's are on the door step of the Conference Championship and another Stanley Cup appearance!!

Bergeron & Marchand have a true chemistry that very few players ever achieve.

A great end to a great game, on to Game 4 Friday night and a chance to clinch the Eastern Conference Championship!

WE ARE BOSTON STRONG!!

GO B'S GO!!!!

Well let's hope for a series clincher tonight, the B's could use a little breather after that double OT game. Would really like to see some production from Seguin, as the kid has been playing hard but can't buy a Goal!

The lucky Becks are on ice and I'm ready for a Fri. night 'barnburner'!!

Let's win this one for 'Soup'

Took this excerpt from Don Cherry interview on WEEI this AM, where I still think Cherry is a blowhard and very rarely listen to him, I must say I agree with his take on Marchand. I feel the same way about Marchand and have previously said he is a good aggressive player, who likes to play 'on the edge', and will unfortunately take 'stupid' penalties.

“He’s not a pest,” Cherry said. “A pest is a guy that will get you about three or four goals, or five or six goals, that will go around jabbing guys and stuff like that. This guy is above all that because he can score goals. He’s what you call a good player that goes around looking for trouble, causes disturbances and that. … You just can’t call him a pest or dirty or anything like that, he’s too good a player for that. He’s above that stuff. He’s just a good, honest, hard player that can score goals. That’s the why I look at it. He’s no pest.”

Well it's all set for Wed. night 6/12 at the 'Madhouse on Madison' as (2) of the Original 6 get set for the series to determine who will Win Lord Stanley's Cup!!

This series has the making of an instant classic as both teams match up very well.

Both have quality defense and goaltending, both have (4) solid lines and posses that right chemistry of grit and talent. The B's have their pest (Marchand) and the Blackhawks have theirs (Bickell) both are extremely effective in what they do, and both have been instrumental in setting up and putting the puck in the net when the games on the line!

Good luck to both clubs and let's hope the Black & Gold are the ones left standing when all is said and done. 'Let the Games Begin'

I want the Bruins to win in 7. In the 7th game, Krug will score to begin the game, and the hawks will tie it. Jagr will then score as time expires to win the cup.....

I can dream can't I?

Well it all comes down to the next 4-7 games to crown the Champion of the NHL, should be a good one tonight as both teams are rested and ready to rock, looking forward to that National Anthem in Chicago tonight as it's always an emotional event in the 'Madhouse on Madison'

Looking for Seguin to get things going, tonight would be a good night to get on the board!

The goal off of Ference sucked big time.

Man, what a game..... Why isn't the NHL as popular as it was in the 80's-90's?

Nothing beats playoff hockey.

That #@#@#@#@ing shot by Chara looked like it had ended it, oh well on to the 3rd OT. I think Seguin is going to get his chance to shine, he has had multiple good opportunities it's just a matter of time till he get's one!

I'm concerned about Horton, the Campbell injury is bad enough, if Horton is lost for any period of time it will be a devastating loss. Have to get up at 6:00 to drive 2+ hours to Manchester NH for a meeting, don't think I will be very sharp!

Come on B's let's get this one!!

ESPN dropping it has also hurt I think. Although they were getting bad ratings in the later ESPN years also.
