I'll be the one to say it what a waste of a VIP spot. Do they have good stories? Yes most likely but people pay thousands of dollars for this event and its not to hang out with someones sons. They pay money to be able to talk and drink with actual athletes.

I am not going to the vip but i would be pissed if there were only 6 or 7 spots and 1 of them was taken up by these two. I would also now want a signed 8 x 10 of these people as that does nothing for me. If they are offering up cut sigs of their day thats a different story.

They were mentioned first because they are the most likely to not be cared about much by the majority of attendees. This pretty much ensures that there will be more airbrushed Mantle stuff in the VIP packs.
