I agree, friend!

Severino is a beast as well. Definitely one of the best pitchers in the American League.

The more I think about this, the more I believe it is VERY close between Sale and Kluber. Kluber has two more starts, and Sale has one. That could make the difference.

I guess I didn't realize just how impressive 300 strikeouts is. Only the second time it's been done in the last 15 years (Kershaw, 301 in 2015). It's only been done 31 times in the last 100 years, and six of those 31 belong to Nolan Ryan, six to Randy Johnson, three to Sandy Koufax, three to Curt Schilling, and two to Pedro Martinez. Ultimately, only 14 different players (including Sale) have struck out 300 since 1912.

Certainly strikeouts is not the end-all-be-all (Nolan Ryan never won the award), but it could be the difference maker in the CY.

for sure impressive...and like you said..another start...so he could get to like 310-312 range...which not counting like all the 1880s seasons...would put him right around top 15 K season since like 1910-current...

Very impressive. Absolutely. But 300 Ks has never earned someone the Cy Young. I believe the only pitcher to strikeout 300+ and win the Cy Young without also leading the league in ERA is Randy Johnson; once. Also, I may be wrong, but I also think in every instance where someone struckout 300+ and led the league in ERA they won the Cy Young (since the award has existed anyway).

Greinke's ERA back up over 3. Nobody wants the NL award.

I was serious about this in the other thread.

Greinke's worst start since September 5, 2016.

I know you've been doing this for weeks, but come on. Seriously?

I mistook you for Boo, so apologies on that. But there's a few people that have been using this thread to take subtle shots at Sale to get under Homerun's skin, and it's pretty sad

In reality, it would take about 50 more strikeouts for Kenley to be considered
