The idea of college basketball is that it's here or people to gamble on Match Madness, and for athletes to get into the nba and for schools/networks to get paid.

College sports is just as much a business as professional sports is.

I'm not saying this is completely how I think,

But isn't that the issue? That is one of the most debated issues with college sports right now. If its a business then the athletes should get paid?

it isn't like it's a guaranteed title when he gets all the one and done's. ask john wall when they ran across de'sean butler and the freight train that was wvu. (before he tore his acl against duke in the final four. then they were screwed). haha. anytime someone brings up kentucky, i just go back to that and how 49 states had kentucky as 20 point favorites. wvu never gets credit for anything, even now in college football, but when they are underdogs they show up.

sorry for getting sidetracked. my whole thing is that the one and done deal doesn't match up with the time needed to declare for the nfl draft. have it the same for both, or do away with the rule for college all together. callipari has learned to play that card, and although i dont always agree with it, he always has one of the very best recruiting classes. play the system.

Gotta give props to Cal. He recruits one and dones like no other. It takes a lot of fun out of recruiting but the top guys buy in like no other. Kentucky is the place to be if you are going to college for just 1 year. Lots of high schoolers are buying into this. Just recruiting within the NCAA rules. Unless the NBA changes it's rules, Kentucky will continue to get the one and dones.

The thing is, these players DON'T have to go to KY to play 1 year and then make themselves elgible for the NBA draft. They can go to any school and do that, so not sure why people are hating on Calipari and UK because of that.

im not hating on him. i dont neccessarily agree with it, but i mean they all know he will have at least 2-4 studs on his team that are straight bound for the nba. why not go form a college superteam and up your chances at a ring while you're in your one year at college. it is that he has so many contacts in the nba and can actually help prepare them in the ways they need to become nba ready. then he has the connections to help them make it big. the players know that, and he plays the system to a T. but it's not cheap or cheating in any way. it's a loophole. does he exploit it, oh yes he does, but there's nothing wrong with it. it's actually very smart.

Yeah I'm just saying that no one forces them to go to KY and play for Calipari.

I guess other coaches would turn these players down if they wanted to attend their university.

mocks college basketball?

I guess you think college basketball is only for 4 year slow white guys who hustle really hard and slap the floor when they play defense.

Mocks college basketball, get out of here with that crap.

Any games they play will be vacated within 5 years anyway – so it’s as if they never even went to college at all…

Even though I wanted them to play for Maryland it was a good business move for them to go to Kentucky. I have no problem with their decision whatsoever.
