Default Project Goldschmidt

I debated waiting until I had a whole bunch of these and then just dropping a big bomb of a thread but decided "nah...it'll be more fun to do it from the beginning"

I mostly collect football but I've found that I wanted to take on a baseball project and have it be something that would take quite some time to complete. I knew I wanted to collect Paul Goldschmidt but wasn't totally sure what direction I wanted to take the collection in. After bouncing a few ideas around I settled on a project I think is going to be a lot of fun and will be pretty damn badass when I reach the goal.

I decided that I'm going to try to collect 20% of the entire print run of the 2011 Bowman Chrome refractor autos, including all colored versions. So in short I am trying to get to the following:

Refractors /500 = 100 copies
Blue Refractors /150 = 30 copies
Gold Refractors /50 = 10 copies
Orange Refractors /25 = 5 copies
Red Refractors /5 = 1 copy

I'd try for the superfractor too, but I know where that currently resides and have been informed in no uncertain terms that it will likely never again see the light of day, lol. So I'll have to settle for the above. Going to be a great challenge!

I'm also going to go for a bunch of his base autos but those will be easier to find so they'll be a lesser priority for the most part.

If you have any Goldschmidt chrome rookie autos, please let me know!

I will add them to this thread as I go and keep a running total

Chrome Base Autos = 5/???
Refractor Autos = 8/100
Blue Refractor Autos = 6/30
Gold Refractor Autos = 3/10
Orange Refractor Autos = 2/5
Red Refractor Autos = 0/1

Here are my first few to get me started!

refractor chrome autos:

174/500

Goldschmidt is a good investment. The guy is a beast...this will probably be his breakout year where he hits over .300 and drives in 30+ homers and 100+ RBIs.

that's what I'm hoping, so I best get my butt in gear and get as much as I can before his prices start climbing, lol.

You jumped in at a bad time, last May was the time to buy. I think his prices were lowest then. Prices now are around to slightly higher then when he got called up. I have the bgs 9 orange refractor auto for sale now on eBay. I sent you a pm. Good luck with this endeavor.

lol, I agree that I would have gotten stuff cheaper last year but starting now is better than waiting longer because I think his prices will continue to rise.

I saw one red refractor on eBay a couple weeks ago. I couldn't negotiate a deal. It was bgs 9.5. Seller had it at buy in now best offer of 2,500.
