Default CHIP KELLY and the NFL

What kind of coach will Chip Kelly be in the NFL? I find this very intriguing and will be very interested to see how his offense will translate. What kind of QB will he use?

Is there word that he's going to jump to the NFL? I don't think the Oregon offense translates AT ALL to the NFL. They rely too heavily on smaller/faster guys to blaze down the field, which won't work at the next level.

He's going to be a Hot name this offseason, its pretty widely accepted he's one of the top 3 names out there right now. The only thing holding him back is Phil Knight. He had accepted the Tampa Bay job last year but Phil Knight convinced him to return to try and win a title. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the NC that we see him bolt to the NFL.

I would assume he'll jet as soon as he finds out what/when the sanctions are coming against Oregon.

I think his style of play will not be good in the NFL, when he played an SEC team the last two years he lost. LSU and Auburn shut down his offense. So against fast NFL type defenses he wasn't fooling anybody. Even Ohio State slowed down that offense in the Rose bowl....In college he has a lot better talent on the field then most of his opponets, throw in that gimmick stuff and other teams just can't keep up.

I think a good running game, a strong defense, and a pocket passer is the way to go in the NFL. This gimmick stuff is garbage, how long did the wildcat last 2/3 years? Give me Brian Kelly or O'Brien from PSU over Kelly.

Chip will be a flop in the NFL, I have no doubt about it. Speed is the only reason the ducks have been successful, and every defense in the NFL has speed.

Fake college offenses need to stay there, the Pistol, The Spread Option, The Traditional Spread, Triple Option and a host of cornball offenses never translate. Texas Tech QB's never make it in the NFL for a reason.

If we need more evidence, how many Offensive Players from Oregon have come into the NFL and had similar production? Jonathan Stewart was never a blazer at Oregon, he was more like a typical NFL RB.

And it has little to do with the spread offense Tech runs. It has everything to do with the quarterbacks themselves.

Case in point- Missouri runs a similar spread offense. Chase Daniel went undrafted in 2009, whereas Gabbert (in the same offense) was a first round pick two years later

Since Boise isn't top 5 nobody talks about Chris Peterson anymore, I think he would be a great NFL guy also.

A back-up on a similarly run scheme in New Orleans behind an HOF'er and a bust-esque QB. Ouch.

Gabbert was the #1 rated pro-style qb coming out of high school in 2008. Why he chose Missouri is beyond me. Nebraska would have been a much better fit for future nfl success

I actually think he belongs at a much larger school, a la Urban Meyer. He's a tremendous college coach that should be coaching in the Big 10 or 12.

Chip Kelly will be gone this next year if we win a championship.
Kelly will be just like Rich Brooks back in the 90's. The rumors going '
around town is that if Chip leaves then Tony Dungy could possibly step in as
head coach until they feel current offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich
could take over. The only reasons i believe this is because Tony has
house in Eugene and his son plays at the U of O and Kellys parents moved back to New Hampshire.

As long as the Panthers don't hire him I don't care if he's any good in the NFL

I'd be furious if they hire him

He would be a better offensive coordinator than coach
