I recently joined the Blowout cards forum. I am alexkwong22. I am a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan and autograph collector. Here are my autograph successes this year:

January 2014:
I went to PirateFest and got these autographs without having to stand in line:

My friend went down to Spring Training for the Pirates in Bradenton and got me these autos:

May 2014:
I went to the Nationals vs. Pirates game. I went early and stood along the 1B line seats. I managed to get these autographs including STEPHEN STRASBURG!

June 2014:
I went to the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double A San Francisco Giants) vs. Binghamton Mets (Double A New York Mets) game. I got some card autographs and a lot of autos on a baseball. Also, I got a game-used ball from Richmond Flying Squirrels SS Matt Duffy. Nimmo and Herrera got called up the day I went so I was thrilled that I got them!

June 2014
I met Pittsburgh Pirates All Star Utilityman Josh Harrison at the LCS and got his autograph. He is playing really well and is a promising young player so I was very excited to get his auto and meet him!

Two different player appearances. Two different locations. One hour. There were Neil Walker and Josh Harrison player appearances from 12-1 at two different locations (PNC Bank and T-Mobile). I got in line early for Neil (10:30am) and got out of there just after 12. Next, I drove 15 minutes to the second location to see Josh. I was able to successfully get Josh despite the fact there was more people to see him to compared to Neil, and I beat the 1:00pm deadline. Fun day overall and really happy I managed to get both!




The ball was a foul ball my dad actually caught at a game vs. New York Mets!




The ticket stub is from the game that Josh hit the walkoff double in the 11th inning and escaped a run down, which was one of the coolest things I've ever seen and it was the first walkoff I ever saw in person! Josh is such a great guy, and an even better player. He was very nice to talk to and I enjoy going to his signings!

I had my very first TTM success today!!! I'm so pumped! It was White Sox Prospect 3B Matt Davidson. He kept 2 of the cards as I requested. I'm so excited to send out more!

Anyway, there's a facebook group that posts autographs for the area (not that youre having difficulty finding them)

Ah sweet! Pittsburgh pride! Hahaha. Yeah I'm always looking at that page looking for signings. I missed Melancon too, and unfortunately he was over an hour away from where I live

I went down to the Dodgers vs. Pirates game today. Had great seats, but unfortunately the Buccos lost. I did do some pre game autographing. I didn't get the chance to go down as early as I want, but what can you do? The graphers there were very aggressive and pushing; I did sort of expect this since it's the Dodgers, but not as much as there was. This lady actually yelled at me for "not letting" her son to the front even though there was no more room. It also doesn't help when the ushers keep kicking you out and forcing you to change your spot. Andre Ethier, Miguel Rojas Jr., Carl Crawford, and Dee Gordon were the only players that signed from what I saw. Matt Kemp, Justin Turner, and Juan Uribe refused. I only got Carl Crawford. Even trying to get him was a challenge. I was constantly being pushed forward and crammed and people were trying to pick stuff up off the ground so it was crazy. Overall, it was very chaotic but hey I'll take a Carl Crawford auto on a minor league card.

Nice job on Crawford...the Pittsburgh autographing crowd is one of the most aggressive and blatantly rude crew that I've seen.

Yeah! When I went down vs Nationals, it was 1000x more enjoyable. Yesterday was just chaotic and it also doesn't help when the ushers keep kicking everyone out either. I honestly didn't enjoy it, but I'm totally fine with somehow managing to get one in all of that crazyiness!

TTM Mailday! It was Pirates C Prospect Reese McGuire. I told him he can keep one but he signed them all and sent them back! I also requested if he could have Austin Meadows sign the dual card too, but he didn't. I'm not sure how I can finish this dual card. As a huge Pirates fan, I'm very stoked about getting such a quick return from Reese!

Congrats on getting McGuire back.

You could try sending to Austin Meadows at West Virginia, I'm not sure how he's signed in season but he was a very good signer in the offseason / spring training so there is a very good chance you'll eventually get it back. Plus Reese McGuire is such a good signer that if you never got the dual back from Meadows you could always re-send to McGuire and you wouldn't be any worse off.

On a completely un-related note, it's a good idea to use your address for the return address on the return envelope instead of the player so if something happens to it in transit or it gets RTS the envelope will still make it's way back to you instead of the player.

I met Pittsburgh Pirates All Star Set-Up Man Tony Watson and 2013 All Star Closer Mark Melancon at my LCS today and got their autographs. They are both members of the "Shark Tank" (Bullpen) and they are both having fantastic seasons so I was really thrilled to meet them!
