Yea that's what I was thinking, a two-tiered random. I wouldn't be against just randomizing all 32 teams though either...whatever everyone else wants to do.

i think a 2 tiered random is best. that way someone isnt stuck with something like the chargers and jets in something like a 2011 break lol

How does a two tier random break work? I've only been in the team drafts and like those a lot. You get to pick your fav team and it's all left to chance

2 tiered would be ill just give an example with 2 teams for 2011:

best teams are tier 1

Panthers... 16th best team

tier 2 are the worst 16

Jets... worst team

all those would be randomed to people. so a person would get a good tier 1 team and a tier 2 team which arent all bad.

it would probably be looking at the years 2007-2011 right now. so the obvious tier 1 teams would be

panthers
lions
vikings
rams
broncos
etc. etc. etc. all those big name rookies would make the tier 1

then all those smaller market less known value teams would make up tier 2

I don't know if I'd like the tier teams but I'm willing to give it a shot. At 16 or 32 people, opinions of good and bad teams will differ. First time for everything and I'm willing to give it a shot. Let's get some more people involved

that just guarantees a person doesnt get stuck with 2 crap team. can you imagine getting the 2 worst teams in a year out of a random that month would suck. but yeah whatever the groups happy wit im happy with

I think two teams per participant makes sense. Maybe only bust two boxes (if they are at or right near normal prices) at the most and if they are cheaper boxes maybe bust three or four. Obviously this depends on product. I like what I see!

I think every month we should have a slot random and then people can draft the teams that they want. That way everyone has 12 chances at the #1 spot to pick the Panthers or another team if we are breaking pre-2011 boxes.

I kind of like this idea. That way there won't be any disagreements over what a tier one and a tier two team is. You get to pick a team you think is tier one

Edit- Would we do the random once a box or once a month?

I've been thinking about the tier idea myself and I don't like it. Team draft would be cool, and maybe some months we can just random teams completely.

I think a rnadom one month and a draft the next is a good way to go. But i too shall defer to the majority.

I agree with this. With 16 or 32 people, there's gonna be a lot of different opinions with which team is tier 1 and tier 2. Throw everyone's name in a list(according to when they joined the group break) randomize it 3 times and whoever is top of the list gets pick 1 and they can choose whatever team they want. If we're going with 16 people then we can do a random twice. Random the same names in the same order.....random it once for the first 16 teams, and then again for the second 16 teams....or we an use the same order twice, doesnt matter. I think we should random it once per break rather than individual boxes....it would take too much time and be too confusing to keep up with. We need to keep it as simple and easy as possible.

Check your feedback.

Also, what gets me about the tier system is that a nice hit will come for any team, regardless how currently "hot" they are. Also, let's say one month someone gets Panthers and Pats while someone else gets Browns and Jets. Then that month we pull a Colt McCoy auto /10 and/or a Mark Sanchez 1/1. You just never know what team will have the hits and there would be the differences of opinion concerning who is "tier one" and who is "tier two".

I like the thought of keeping it fresh. We can mainly go with team draft, then one month just random all teams to everyone and they get two each. Or maybe even some month we will come up with a different idea. The main thing is to have fun with this and everything will always be up to you, the participants.
