Yes, 10 years ago they were the best in baseball. 105 years ago the Cubs won their 2nd consecutive world series(the first team to do so). My point, unless the ring came last year, RINGS MEAN NOTHING.

17 and a half games back in your division is competing? This has to be the funniest post I've ever seen.

Youre telling me that the two rings the team has now is relevant to the team that is currently playing? If you can truthfully answer that question yes, then you're right, I am wrong. Go ahead, answer truthfully.

Interesting piece on Eovaldi... If anyone wants to take a break from bickering to read it. Guy is throwing smoke since he returned

Nathan Eovaldi and his new, scary fastball - Fish Stripes

The Marlins will spend the money to keep Stanton if it all comes together around him, but I wouldn't pass up a Profar/Moreland/prospect offer. LoMo could get flipped at anytime. You could get two really nice pieces to add for those two.

That would also require all of the prospects to pan out. We all know that doesn't always happen. If Fernandez, Turner, Eovaldi establish themselves and then Nicolino/Heaney/Alvarez can fill out the rotation, who knows? That is how teams like Oakland and Tampa Bay have been competitive with pretty crappy lineups at times, great homegrown starting pitching.

You guys aren't giving the TB Rays any credit. They will have a solid rotation for years to come and their AAA rotation is better than Houston's current MLB Rotation. If they trade a pitcher or two for another good haul (Like Myers) they will be good. Imagine this lineup in 2016:

Rotation: Price, Moore, Guerrieri, (Pick 2 from Hellickson, Archer, Odorizzi, Cobb, Snell and Colome)
1B:Shaffer/Longoria
2B: Zobrist
SS:Hager
3B: Longoria/Shaffer
C: ?
OF: ?
OF:Andrwe Toles
OF:Wil Myers
DH: Vogelbach (from cubs for pitching prospect )

Nice piece. I knew he was throwing harder, didn't know that hard.

Thumbs up for Jose Fernandez last night, absolutely stellar

Both Florida teams should be contracted.

Nothing until Jeffrey Loria is forced to sell the team.

Their owner is a cheap schmuck. He will trade everyone away before they are good again.

As long as he doesn't have to pay them gobs of money he won't care whether they are good or not. Payroll is the only thing he's concerned with. Most of these guys are under team control cheaply for a while.

It's a happy 4th. A 4th straight series win. 7 wins in last 10 series. With wins in 10 of last 13 games, #Marlins are 19-11 since May 31.

They're still a terrible team.

Marlins rotation will have JoFer, Heaney, Nicolino and Eovaldi plus a filler by then. Stanton will be dealt regardless if the team wants to resign him or not. He wants no part of that crappy organization and I dont blame him. Yelich and Ozuna will anchor the offense plus anyone they get in the Stanton deal (Profar more than likely).

Rays are stacked in pitching but I see them dealing Price very soon. Cannot afford to give him the 20 plus million a year long term. Team needs to move out of St Pete and into downtown Tampa. I've only been to one game this year due how hard it is to get around. IF they can secure a better location then the fans will come.

I see a Rays rotation of Moore, Guerrieri, Hellickson, Archer and Odorizzi which has very good potential
