Famous Fabrics (Music) - Cut Signature Checklist RELEASED!

I admit, I like collectibles for the action. Buying, selling, prospecting, gambling, etc., are parts of the fun. I will say that being older than many here I just can’t justify sticker autos. Give me a nice on-card auto and I feel that little connection to the signer. |

There is something inherently WRONG with the flow of this list:
Jimmy Page Joe Cocker Joe Jonas Joe Perry John Bonham While there are about 20 or so names that I am not familliar with, it really is great (and eclectic) list. |

I just picked the names that stood out...not necessarily the ones I'm hunting, hahaha. I have a master case coming and aside from the cuts, I'm hoping to pull an art card of 2Pac, Biggie, Freddy Mercury, or Jim Morrison. |

Impressive list. If anyone pulls a Henry Rollins, PM me...I want it. I'm a little disappointed it didn't include a Kurt Cobain cut.

I hate her so much...I believe her cut signature comes with genital warts. Anyone pulling it should just throw it away.
I still think she's directly responsible for his demise. She's pure evil...even her daughter Francis Bean wants nothing to do with her. I would have paid big bucks for the Kurt cut. |

that's awesome that danzig is in it, he is my favorite. I wouldn't mind the Jim Morrison and Chuck Berry cut either.

Some of the names I notice that are NOT included are Cobain, Frampton, Ghostface, Hendrix, ?Lady GaGa?, Method Man, Morrison, Nicks, Peart, ODB, RHCP, Rza, and any members of Metallica, RHCP, The Doors, Zeppelin.
I'm looking at about a 15/90 chance of pulling an art card that I would be happy with :/ I will be looking for cuts of: Christine McVie Dave Matthews Dr. Dre Ella Fitzgerald Elton John Elvis Presley Eminem Freddie Mercury Inspectah Deck Janet Jackson Janis Joplin Jerry Garcia Jimmy Page John Bonham Johnny Cash John Lennon Jon Secada Les Paul Lindsey Buckingham Madonna Mama Cass Elliot Michael Jackson Mick Fleetwood Mick Jagger Prince Raekwon Whitney Houston I'm going to be more scared to open my master case than I thought. There are not as many signatures as I thought I would want. Mehhh.... |

John Bonham Jimmy Page Robert Plant I'm glad those rappers aren't included, leaves room for REAL musicians (this should start a fun debate ).

How can you make such a ridiculous/ignorant comment? There are 1800 cuts with at least 200 names that pretty much NOBODY has heard of...there is/was plenty of room for "real" musicians. Also, no Glenn Miller. Last edited by YakuzaShoeii; 06-26-2012 at 05:57 PM. |

I was impressed with the opera contingent, some of whom go WAY back. The list includes Jules Benedict, who was Jenny Lind's accompanist on her US tour in 1850. It also includes Luigi Lablache, who gave singing lessons to the young Queen Victoria. Legend has it that his voice was so powerful, he could blow out a candelabra when he sang at full volume!
Among the active singers is Patricia Racette, who's now a major international star. I saw her in a Saturday matinee at the Metropolitan Opera 15 years ago, when she was still an understudy. Just like in the movies, she went on and wowed 'em. There's a ton of classical/opera cuts I'd be delighted to pull (or purchase). |

I picture a rocking chair and cobb pipe, "Dem damn kids and dere rap music!"
Obviously, they either had a certain list in mind or were unable to get certain autos. If you wanted to get crazy, there's a TON of "hip-hop" that could have been included. Afrika Bambaataa, Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Puffy, RZA, GZA, ODB, Ghostface, Method Man, Snoop, etc. The list could go on and on and on. They did get some really cool ones and as far as hip-hop goes, I will be looking for Dre, Eminem, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, and Slick Rick...aside from the 2Pac/Biggie sketches, of course. Quote:

Yes, those rappers. I was referring to specific people mentioned.
I just don't like rap, and I don't consider talking fast to be music. Just my opinion. I knew you guys would jump on me, that's why I posted what I did after my comment. Back to my rocking chair...

Right with ya Ted - rap music is a paradoxical term - rap is not music.

Rap isn't talking fast lol. The voice has to flow on the beat rhythmically and the words have to be said with conviction and emotion. The lyrics (if the rapper is good), have to be very well thought out with a variety of schemes/stories/topics. People who hate rap and say it isn't music don't understand these concepts. Anyone can say it isn't music until their voice is gone, it doesn't change the fact that it's sold in music outlets, available in various audio formats, is constantly at the top of the billboard charts, is played on hundreds of radio stations, etc.etc.etc...... Let's see some famous musicians who have collaborated with rappers, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Marilyn Manson, Britney Spears, the list goes on.
