I don't think it will be that soon. Torii has that locked down for this year and next.

I posted this one the Tigers MLB.com thread..

Went 3-5 today with his tenth homer of the season.

His average is .295. YES, .295. His average was around .270 5 days ago.

He's batting over .400 his last ten games with 4 HR's (5 HR's in last 11 games), and 3 K's vs. 6 BB's.. Yes, we're talking about the same guy who K'd 118 times between Lakeland and Erie last year and walked only 36 times. He already has 30 this year.

He is improving every season, that's for sure. I've watched him play about 10-15 times this season. Every single out is usually hard hit. His swing is PRETTY. I mean, it is pure and he never looks bad when he gets up to the plate. He doesn't fly out, all of his BIP are line drives or ground balls. He has worked the counts up to 10 pitches sometimes.

Regarding the OF, he's looked fine. He's made all the plays he is supposed to. Sometimes he gets late breaks, but it is still a work in progress. He's better than Delmon Young and Ryan Raburn that's for sure.

I would rather see Nick Castellanos as our closer. Before I leave Michigan to go back to PA I may have to stop by motor city and cut off Valverde's arms to keep him from giving up any more 9th inning home runs.

My cable was out all day and then came back on at the end of the game, all I got to see was the bottom of the 8th and the 9th, pissed that I couldn't see Alvarez, gonna have to watch the replay later tonight

Looks like the Tigers and Cabrera are close to a 3 or 4 Year extension, that probably also means that Scherzer and Jackson will be on there way out. Texas might come calling,

Getting rid of Scherzer would be stupid. Illich has money. Means if they like the guys they will spend what they need to in order to keep them.
