Default Anyone going to the National in Illinois this year?

I know it's a while away and hardly anything has been announced but is anyone planning on going?

I should be. Parents probably going to pay for the trip as a graduation present for me (Graduate in May.) It'll be my first national and my first time in the Midwest.

Definitely. I have been the past 3 years and it is worth all of it. I'll be there all week as long as long as I don't have something drastic happen before hand.

I dunno. Making the 9 mile trek last year was worth it, but I'm not sure I would take a plane ride to attend. The tickets/lodging alone would put me in such a bad hole it would be difficult to make money.

This should be my first year as well. My fiance got a job as an occupational therapist near Chicago so I'll be moving down there soon. I'm really excited to go.

I will be there maybe. And only a day too. Sadly since I only live about 40 minutes away.

I will be going. It will also be my first card show ever. Looking to spend some serious dough! Will be driving though. Who needs a ride?!

Maybe on August 1st. Doing the Kane County Cougars game, and then the Chicago Cubs game on the 31st (noon and 7:00) IF I can get a cheap hotel I will stay overnight, otherwise I will probably just make the 2 hour drive the next morning.

First year going, since its practically a town over from me. Very pumped!

Does anyone know potential ticket prices? What were they in Baltimore last year?

Im going to be making a weekend trip from Syracuse. First timer, and I have heard so many different reviews. I like to buy some boxes and some decent singles. Does it get obnoxiously pack in there, or is there plenty of space to move around?

If you have never been, you really should make the drive being so close. I've been to over half of them and always had fun. Will be there at least 3 days. Plenty of Michigan people on here including me to network room or ride share.

I've been to other types of shows at the Rosemont. I have a brother that lives in Naperville so I have a spot to crash. I'll go for sure, but some of those autograph prices from last year are whacked! 250.00 for Mariano Rivera? Please. I think it will be a fun place to walk around though. It'd be cool to meet some of the people on the forums there.

They were $20 at the door, cash/charge. There might be a discount for buying in advance, and I think you can buy VIP/All weekend passes.

Baltimore was obnoxiously packed in certain spots. Remember, you're dealing with a lot of kids, and socially inept obese middle age nerds that make one or two public appearances a year.

Prepare yourself for a crowd. Some xanax or oxy comes in handy

I had everything in a two row storage box held in a shoulder type duffel bag.

My advice, don't bring anything to sell in bulk. Dealers don't want it, and you will get sick of carrying it around. Most of these guys want the hot $hit(harper/trout) and high end.
