12-13 Immaculate Case Break

I know this will excite some people, but sorry to let you down as this case was ripped back when the product first dropped.

I was downloading all my pictures from poobucket to move to imgur and hadn't seen this break for a few years so it brought back memories. I thought I'd share with you guys.
This was a personal case of mine and I can't believe how underwhelmed I felt after it. haha *facepalm*

Little did I realize how very huge this case was.

Box 1; 3 RPA's !! wth


Box 2; Meh, nice KAJ patch


Box 3; Acetate RPA of Derrick Williams.. still selling decent at this stage.


Box 4; ok i guess


Box 5; Another acetate RPA, Davis RC auto to boot.


Box 6; GTFOH. Say no more.


Yeah, wish you could rip cases like this everyday. *sigh*

Sold everything long ago, hurts looking at that Davis now.

Recent sales at the time were around the $1400 usd mark, I sold it for $1500usd f/f to a guy in china 2 weeks after breaking it.

damn really??? 1500 for that AD? i sold a kyrie RPA /99 redemption card for 1500 when this first came out. that was the best break i ever had...pulled a 6 star logoman patch card too

arguably best content PANINI ever put out there
original box price was $300-350 per box, 6 box case ($200 per case)
all autos ON CARD
there are at least 2 "super" patches - tag, letter, jumbo per case
even the "Average" cases will make you "happy" ripping it

compare it to NOW:
price per box will be $500-600, lots and lots of "Sticker" autos

13-14 was pretty awesome too. I was in on a case break at $400/box that had a Curry patch auto /25, giannis nameplate rc, Tim Hardaway jr. Jumbo rpa (decent at the time), Kobe auto, 1/1 auto (I think it was David Robinson) and 3 or 4 other nice $80-$125 cards.

IMO group-breaking has been good for the hobby overall, but one of the biggest negatives is prices on cases get too inflated before products even come out. The box price on Immaculate and NT the past couple years has been ridiculous and the overall case quality seems to get worse and worse.

Yeah probably the best Panini case I ever saw was 2013-14 where I split it with a guy at a show [mistake] I took 4 boxes he got the other 2. Prices had risen a tiny bit so iirc it was $2600.

oh and also -- Hardaway Jr 2/2 jumbo tag patch, Shaq acetate auto patch.

It's this kind of insane cases upon initial release compared to lackluster later cases in 12-13, 13-14 and 14-15 that has made me an avid believer in the case 'wave' theory.

It hasn't seemed so apparent now as it used to be though.

definitely one of the best products of all-time, for value/potential value, but also for innovation, design, etc. if you can remember to back then, there pretty much had never been full sized patch cards like immac had.

back when they did immaculate CORRECTLY - with 1 RAP per box or even better an acetate parallel rap. its totally ridiculous when they went to 1-2 raps per case, while the box prices went up like 167%.

i split a case of this with my friend, drummond 1/1 acetate rc patch, john wall letterman among others in that great case.

Our case was at least 1 month after release if not ~2.

I have never seen any evidence of purposeful waves in years of breaking high-end NBA, this season will be my 10th of breaking UD/Panini hoops cases.

Randomness is a tricky topic even for experts. Any sort of 'wave' has to happen by definition over a long enough timeline.
