I have a quick observation and question. I noticed lately that a ton of commons are being listed on the site which of course is up to COMC to accept or decline but they are listed way below the lowest price to even list. The ones I saw were newly listed but at $0.09 or so and I just can't understand why someone would be willing to pay money to just give away cards. I mean you can just donate them and write it off or just throw them away. So my question is: If you work at COMC do you get to list your own cards for free? or is there someone who just likes to give money away? I don't want this to be taken as a negative comment/question but it doesn't make much sense.

I notice all the base/commons going up too. I do refrain from sending those in. Really can't do much when it costs you .15 a card and then try to sell at .25 once the buyer figures in their shipping it prob isn't worth it for them to even purchase so you sit on them and basically give away at some point. I do think some folks send in commons so people can fill their sets all at once and from one place and others just send in to get them out of their house but that is my opinion.
The staffers pay to get their cards up but they get a discount. Tim mentioned it somewhere in one of his posts from way back when.

From what I understood the staffers do not pay to list their cards, as long as they list them on their own time.

Did anyone else with cards due to post yesterday find a bunch of cards missing pictures from their batches? My cards were uploaded just a few minutes before midnight last night (the night of the deadline they were due by) and I have hundreds missing pictures and saw at least 1 other seller priced a card this morning that was missing a picture. Seems like they uploaded some batches incomplete, just to meet their deadlines and not have to refund any portion of listing fees.

Just wondering how many others were effected?

If anyone from COMC's staff reading this cares to comment, the feedback would be appreciated.

Everything was there, and all of the pictures were there. It took me 3 hours to price them last night.

Mine were posted at 2:45 AM EST, so 11:45 PM PST. I've found 2 other sellers listing stuff today without pictures too. Looks like they just uploaded incomplete batches late last night to make them look like they were complete and on-time and avoid having to pay back any fees for being late.

Does Blowout, or COMC have a policy against us trading the credit for BO Certificates, and selling the certificates? $1300 in certs for $1250, would still keep me $80 ahead of cashing out.................

I know you cant sell the gift cards on the site.

Major thanks to Jeff Maeda at COMC! If I'm not the most annoying seller when it comes to card identification, I'm probably in the top five. And while I may have issues with what they will and will not include for sale on the site, I have to say the customer service is superb. The one Japanese card that was going to be returned due to identification issues is now listed in my inventory.

That said, it should be noted that probably 90% of the baseball cards listed as belonging to 1990 ProCards team sets (with the wood grain) are actually from the 1990 CMC Pre-Rookie set. The main differences being, the ProCards are not glossy, don't have the extra little card number in the lower right corner on the back and usually have some sort of local sponsor's logo on the back under the stats.

Ditto for the cards listed as belonging to the 1990 CMC team sets. The team set cards have green backs. The 1990 CMC Pre-Rookie cards have yellow backs.

In both cases, the team set cards almost always have a higher book value with the CMC Pre-Rookie cards being almost universally commons, which is skewing the valuation of these cards on the site.

Hey, everyone, just wanted to let you know that there was a computer issue on Monday night due to the sheer volume of cards going up on the site. Nearly 20,000 cards were due on Monday!!! That's more in one day than we use to have come in a week! Several employees have been working overtime to make sure they are going up on time. We're sorry about the snafu with the images, though. We're working to prevent that from happening again. There will be a blog post on our site from Darren (username: dwc07) later that has a more in-depth explanation. Thank you for your patience and understanding!!!

I also have 5,000 scheduled to go live Monday. I was hoping they would have started to slowly be uploading them by now, I guess that is not going to happen since all of them are still at 35%. I cannot wait to price 5,000 cards all at once

...or maybe over a week or two.

Nice. 9,000 between the two of us should help to jumpstart the count.

I haven't had anything post for about 10 days or so and I am just now finishing pricing those in time for the new ones to come on - and I used the Bulk Price Editor for all the really cheap ones.

That auto pricing hurt me on a handful of Topps Black Basketball that for some reason are priced in Beckett way below what they actually bring. At least now I know to search for those in my batches before I use the bulk pricing tool.

Am I the only one that has recently had cards pop up out of nowhere that have yet to be uploaded/priced? I have had 5 or 6 in the past couple weeks that show up needing attention that I do not recall being uploaded yet. Based on the item number of the card tonight it probably should have been with my batch that uploaded last week.
