Question Paid TTM successes? Who have you paid for? Is it worth it? Questions inside!

I broke down and recently send some donations with a few TTM autograph requests. Nothing big. $10.00 checks for the following players that I know will not sign without them.

Andre Dawson
Rollie Fingers
Ryne Sandberg

I was shocked how quickly the first 2 have come back and the signatures look so good!! This got me thinking...

1: Who else is out there signing stuff TTM for $15.00 or less?
2: Anyone out there worth paying more for a TMM autograph?
3: Who have you sent a donation to for a TTM autograph? and how much?

Let me know, I'd send a few more out with donations, if I know it's worth it!

I've sent to Sandberg w/ $5 for a card and $15 for Fingers on an 8x10. Well worth it in my opinion. Wade Boggs is another who signs for a $5 donation or more per item (if you make out check or M.O. to All Childrens Hospital). The Boggs was the best since I am a Red Sox fan and he signed the gameday program from my first baseball game ('86 at Fenway) with the HOF inscription.

Brooks Robinson has been signing recently for cash. $10-20 per item is fair. Not a fan of the people sending him $5 an item.

I've had success with Wade Boggs, Ryne Sandberg and Will Clark. I forget how much I put in the request as a donation, but it was probably $10. I had 2 cards for each player and both came back signed. I sent some into PSA a while back just for fun.

Going from memory on this one, so the list may not be complete/100% accurate:

Don Sutton - $10
Andre Dawson - $20
Wade Boggs - $5
Irv Noren - $10 (Haven't received yet, but he has a very high success rate)
Carl Erskine - $10 (Virtual guaranteed return with inscriptions)
Jim Perry - $10
Sonny Siebert - $7 (I sent $10)
Johnny Romano - $5
Frank Thomas - $5 (He'll sign for free, but he donates the money to charity)
Vern Law - $5
Bill Virdon - $5
Bud Harrelson - $5

The majority of that list is 8x10s, with an occasional ROMLB. Again, I don't think it's complete, but I'm going from memory.

I also have a list of Hall of Famers that sign that I can send. Prices range from $20-$100. Haven't sent to all, but all have good response rates.

Good luck!

A couple more suggestions...

1. Al Kaline signs for $10 per card. Also if you do send to him, only send cash.

2. Roger Clemens signs through his foundation. He charges $25 per card (and more for premium items) but it's still a pretty reasonable price for one of the best pitchers of all time.

3. Phil Niekro signs for $20 per card.

4. Gaylord Perry signs for $10 per card.

5. Jim Rice has been signing for $10 per card.

6. Bert Blyleven signs for $20 per card.

7. Fergie Jenkins signs for $15 per card.

Any idea if Rice will sign baseballs also? Or is he cards only?

guys I know of:
Bench - $80 through his foundation
Ryan - $60 now for a card
Rollie $10-15
Sandberg $10
Kaline $10
Niekro $10 what I sent him
Dawson $10
Brooks Robinson $15-20
Sutton $5
Fergie Jenkins $10-15
Boggs $5
Fisk $40
Steve Carlton $35
Blyleven $25 (I think)
Steve Garvey $5
Mussina $5
Goose Gossage - $5, but I got him free
Orlando Cepeda has successes for $35

Where have people been getting Rice for $10? Would love to add him to my Red Sox collection

I was just looking at his Foundation site...

Any guesses why he won't sign his Rookie Cards?

I've sent B. Robinson $5 donations before but it was always for an old beat up checklist or Orioles team card.
I agree that based on his career, he should be charging $20 per but also keep in mind that Brooks will sign cards for free...

Whitey Ford - $40
Don Newcombe - $20
Al Kaline $10 (cash only)
Don Larsen - $10

All are reliable signers

Sometimes for tougher guys I send 10 bucks even though they don't normally charge. A few times I've gotten the return with the money back.
