Talking Won a Panini contest today!

http://twitter.com/#!/PaniniAmerica/...89053273718784

Early today via Twitter Panini posted a contest. The first 4 people to post a picture of themselves holding their favorite Panini brand card won a "HUGE" prize. I won by posting a picture of myself half asleep holding an Evan Turner RC

I got an email from the Panini team requesting my phone number. I supplied it and soon after I received a phone explaining what would happen tomorrow

-I will receive a phone call from a basketball related person
-He/She would call some time tomorrow night.
-NO other details were provided adding to the mystery.
-I will have the chance to ask this person questions & such

Now my best guess would be Kobe Bryant or Kevin Durant. Both have Panini exclusives But you never know. Regardless I am very excited and really dont know what to expect. Who knows maybe I will even receive some cards from Panini too

I will update the thread tomorrow as the events unfold

Thats pretty sweet let us know who it is, hopefully it isn't a bench warmer or someone like that. Maybe Evan Turner will call you.

I agree there are a lot of redemptions from Panini and their turn around time seems to be a bit slow. But unlike other companies like Topps & UD they put out products that collectors ask for (example: Plates & Patches) and bring back classics (example: Pinnacle Hockey). They are a somewhat new company who is still figuring out the market. They also make a lot of effort to give back to the card collecting community such as giveaways and contests. IMO they are by far the best card company.

If it is a phone call from a player or coach, and it was me, personally I would be optimistic to think the phone call is not even the best part of the "prize" that they might send you something on top of it. But I'm the extreme optimist.

Sounds great.

My best guess is it will either be a good Autographed card or a wax box.

Good luck!

Three years ago I had no idea who Panini was, now they are my favorite company, three years ago UD was my favorite.

Talking autograph cards? First there was video cards not talking cards, what next players are going to jump out of them?

JUST HAD A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH BLAKE GRIFFIN

WOW, I am speechless right now. I asked him if he could have a dual autograph with any player past or present who would it be? His answer Michael Jordan. I did not ask for an autograph or anything (probably should have) I cant begin to thank Panini enough for this!

LOL! Wow how crazy! That is a pretty unique and awesome prize.

Did you record it?

You should have asked him what he was wearing and made it an awkward obsessed fanboy interview.

Panini probably recorded it and will post it on their blog. All part of their marketing for announcing Blake as their newest exclusive. I'm guessing they'll probably send you something signed by him too.

That's very cool on a number of levels. My favorite part is that tweet though. Congrats bookyyyy.

Maybe SK Series E will include an opportunity to speak with a dead horse or one of Lennox Lewis' cornermen!

Whoa, congrats! Blake was a really good sport about the whole thing

Also, gotta give some credit to Panini, that's a pretty unexpected and unique prize.

How awesome would it be if they made these sort of experiences into things you could pull out of a pack. Like a redemption card that allowed you to receive a call from Kobe or hang with Kevin Durant for an afternoon. Talk about adding value to boxes!

I was one of the lucky winners as well. It was awesome experience! Blake answered the phone like he was a regular ol' Panini employee. We had a little small talk and I ended up asking him one question. I asked him which of his dunks he would like to see made into a Panini card. He said he'd go with the throw in dunk he had against the Knicks. Not a bad choice at all. I found him to be a really cool guy and I'm sure Panini will post some sort of video about his day at the office. I recorded my call and I'll try to figure out a way to get that up soon!
