Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yeah i know it, it's amazing how you can play right and get real far.

There is a person on tradingcarddb.com who starts with i think a bunch of base cards and makes his way to a 1952 Mickey Mantle

Actually thats the reason I posted it. I read that too and it sort of inspired me to do the same thing.

I believe it was a 1986 topps alan knicely

I sold my Isaiah Stanback auto collection and bought a box of Leaf Ali Metal and a Muhammad Ali Cut Autograph

You'd need a lot of "friends" or respect. Or just trying to offer trades that help someones PC. I've went from a 5SV to 100SV card. It gets easy once you get to higher end. People then will be willing to give up a little for PC.

That is a great story. I had heard of the red paperclip and seeing it done in the sportscard world is amazing. Thanks for posting.

LOL so wait... he had to travel to all those cities in different states and even Canada and at the end of it, he got a house worth a few thousand dollars in Alberta? Probably spent that much on air tickets...

My thoughts exactly. Don't think it's that amazing of a story if he had to travel to all of those places it mentions in the timeline lol.
