PSA to Display Multi Million Dollar T206 Collection at the National

Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) will be featuring a multi-million dollar exhibit of T206 Hall of Famer vintage baseball cards at the upcoming National Sports Collectors Convention. In addition to the impressive display, PSA will be offering a free commemorative poster of the T206 set.

There also will be PSA displays of other rare sports collectibles, a salute to Cleveland as home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum with an array of Beatles memorabilia and displays of o ther non-sports memorabilia including Three Stooges items.

"This year is the 100th anniversary of the 1909 introduction of the famous T206 tobacco cards. We'll be displaying dozens of the Hall of Fame players from this classic set. It is the finest known collection of its kind and will soon be listed in the PSA Set RegistrySM," said Joe Orlando, President of PSA and PSA/DNA, divisions of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT).

"This will be one of the finest and most diverse displays we've ever been privileged to showcase at a 'National' convention."

The collection of 1909 1911 T206 White Border HOF Players contains all four Ty Cobb varieties, as well as the three Christy Matthewson and Cy Young varieties. It is virtually complete with Honus Wagner and Eddie Plank rarities as the only HOF players missing from the historic HOF group.

"We've prepared a limited edition, full-color commemorative poster featuring an array of Hall of Famers from this legendary set. Visitors to the PSA booth at the National can get a free poster while quantities last," said Orlando.

Other displays at the PSA booth (# 1447) at the show will be high-grade cards of star players in the 1954 Bowman and 1957 and 1958 Topps sets. This will include some of the finest known cards of superstars Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Willie Mays and the like. Baseball icons memorabilia that will be shown include two certified checks related to the 1919 sale of Babe Ruth's to the New York Yankees and a superb Ruth autographed ball graded PSA 9.

Cleveland is home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and the PSA-PSA/DNA displays will include Beatles' autographs, original photographs and certified 1960's era concert tickets.

"We'll also have autographs and collectibles from a non-sports category, including a group of cards from the finest 1959 Fleer Three Stooges set in the world," said Orlando. "This set was voted as the most important non-sports set in the hobby during an online PSA poll."

PSA will offer on-site grading at the convention. PSA representatives will be available to answer questions about pricing and accept submissions for all levels of service. PSA/DNA autograph experts will be available to authenticate previously-signed autographs on-site. Buyers of the Super VIP admission package to the convention can receive from PSA a free grade for any card with a declared value of under $1,200.

The 30th National Sports Collectors Convention is scheduled to take place at the International Exposition Center in Cleveland, Ohio from July 29th until August 2nd, 2009. For more information visit National Sports Collectors Convention.
