Default Aroldis Chapman on Fire!

Aroldis has coming in 5 different games and has yet to give up a run. He's got 9 strikeouts in just 5 innings. He's got two saves and win under his belt. He came in against the Nationals and struck out 3 straight, two of which were Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman. Seems like Reds did a good thing keeping him at closer because he's been dominant.

Chapman still hasn't given up a run and got another save today striking out 2 out of the 3 batters he faced. The kid is hot!

He throws hard, he's very good, he's a closer...The excitement stops there.

Lmao. He pitched 6.1 IP this season. You have got to be kidding. There are probably 50 pitchers that have had longer scoreless streaks this year already... for example, Bronson Arroyo who threw 7 consecutive scoreless innings in the same game that super hot Chapman came in and saved.

Comon Anthony;I don't think it can be argued I've got more invested into Chapman than this entire board x10 ... and even I would never post something like this so early in the season. The next time this thread better be bumped is in late June when Chapman has thrown 34 innings of scoreless baseball / otherwise it's too soon. The kid's is in the bullpen and that's just the way it is for now.

Love Maholm, hes extremely underrated. His numbers from the last three years are good. Plus hes a class act. Doesnt get much better than that. I was pissed when we traded him.

my problem with chapman is now that he is back in the bullpen before last night he had not thrown a meaning full pitch for us in seven days. kind of useless to have a weapon like him and unable to utilize him in a week. imho

Reds sign and pay Broxton closer money and Dusty pisses and moans for Chapman to be closer. Our best pitcher by far throws if lucky 3 innings a week. Makes no sense and never will to me. The Reds signed Chapman as a starter and stretch him out every spring only to toss him in the pen. Waste.

I hate Dusty as much as the next guy, but Chapman himself said he wanted to close. I think he would be more valuable as a starter, but he has been amazing as a closer so why move him when it's working?

I have to admit I wasn't all that excited for picking up Maholm at first because I've seen him in games where he doesn't seem to have any pitch that is able to get anyone out with. However this season he is looking real good! He has never had more than 13 wins a season however he has always had a pretty decent ERA so now that he is finally pitching for a winning team like the Braves it's possible he could be 15+ game winner.

I'm just glad Ryan "Dumpster" turned the Braves down last season! We never would have got Maholm if he didn't.

Another 3 apperances by Chapman and still has not given up a run. Today he got the Win and struck out 2 out of the 3 batters he faced. 3 Saves and 2 Wins to start the season.

Too bad the hobby doesn't notice because he has been a $25 base chrome auto for two years.
