What a cash grab. Not going to even buy a pack of this, and I am a GPK completest.

I like that the SRP on a 24 pack box is slightly HIGHER than the SRP on 24 single packs.

How many packs come in the different types of boxes? Hobby/retail/bonus, etc..

Hobby gives better odds/exclusive cards to hobby, retail is for big box stores and blasters contain exclusive bonus cards. In short, to bleed collectors dry of their money.

It will be an interesting release.

I actually like the idea. At some point in the process, you need to try new thing to bring in new collectors. Some will like it, and some wont. But if you do the same process forever - you really leave yourself no room for growth to bring in new customers.

It appears Topps is keeping BNS line, so you could almost consider this a higher end GPK if you want. I consider it new marketing to bring in more customers. If they can bring in new customers, there is room for the brand to grow. With growth brings to products and maybe even thing like Cheap Toys.

Figured, but I am wondering what the $/card difference is with the different boxes to see if it is really that compelling to get either type of box regardless of what bonuses they may have. I also read the bonus boxes will have exclusives the hobby boxes will not. I am a newbie to buying this kind of stuff in general.

Gold refractors are hobby only. They are serial # out of 50 and will be extremely popular. I would get hobby over retail for sure

I'm now in for a case. Should be a blast. One of the few sets I will be putting together. Would like to own a few supers as well at some point.

I am not too familiar with chrome or baseball cards. Will the base set have a metallic shiny look to it, or only the refractors? If the base set looks like a slightly updated card with the lame newer banner, then this is very disappointing.

I don't picture hard core collectors and fans of gpk being to happy with them not being stickers when they have been stickers for every release of their 20+year history

this makes me laugh. how many "hard core" collectors have removed their stickers from their collection & stuck them on notebooks or bedroom doors? i dont picture less than 100%. that said, i dont think it matters...

If they only had sketches too (one per case or so) this would be perfect.

Still excited though.
