Default Can a newbie get some help? How to determine trade value?

im new to the boards and Ive posted several threads looking for walking dead cards. Im selling/trading some hockey cards in the hockey forum but dont really know how to determine trade/sell value. If a card books 100, what kind of trade value do you put? Any info would be appreciated.

Book value is very outdated. Almost everybody here uses eBay as trade and sell values. There's no better way to discover an item's worth than to see what people are paying for it. Just check eBay's most recent sales and there's you answer.

First of all, welcome to Blowout! Better that you ask rather than assuming, which is good.

As centereacan06 mentioned, book value (Beckett) is for the birds. No one uses that. The best thing to do (I think) is look at completed transactions on eBay, which you can sort chronologically in order to see where cards have traded most recently. That is what I'd use as a baseline. And on here, people tend towards offering cards at or slightly below eBay prices, because here you won't be losing fees to eBay since the transactions are direct (yes, there are still PayPal fees, but not eBay fees).

Hope that all helps - if you need a hand with the eBay stuff I mentioned just let us know, we can help.

Also, stop by when you can and rep PA - there are lots of you around here!
Generally looking for BGS-graded autographs of Andrew Benintendi from Topps/Bowman products

Thanks guys,
Ebay really ruined the hobby. Why do they even make becketts or price guides anyway. I mean members need to understand as well that some people have purchased a lot of boxes/packs to get the rare cards and to get low balled is crazy. I mean, I had one person offer me $9 for a Fleury Ice script from trilogy that is worth way more than that. Was also tryin to work out a deal on a kopitar auto/quad jersey /50, Esposito letter patch auto /50, Elias patch auto, Ovechkin glacial graph, Gordie Howe glacial graph (sp) and a cam neely auto 3 color patch /50 for $120 while bv is like 510 (ebay at least 250). Just frustrating cause Im gonna lose out on deals with Ricksam and Cat if I dont pay them soon.. GRRRRRRRRRRRR
