Harry Potter..by far my favorites.

Was pretty awesome reading the first book or two in elementary school when they came out then hearing that it was going to be made into movies. After I picked up the first book from the schools library I was hooked and bought every book on release day

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, finished by Brandon Sanderson. EPIC fantasy series. The Chronicles of Amber series by Roger Zelazny is a close second.

Lords of Discipline
Like Raymond Carver's short stories
Hemingway is good, especially if you interpret everything as a phallic symbol

Did you see the Great Gatsby in theaters yet? Just saw it and I must say it was pretty good. If this is number one on your list then get to the theaters soon

I don't read nearly as much as I used to, trying to get back into it. Just finished Gone with the Wind which was fantastic and I would put it into my favourites.

I also really liked Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Devil in the White City.

Atlas Shrugged
Count of Monte Cristo
Dante's Inferno
edit: how I can forget Asimov's Foundation Series
As for newer stuff

Guillermo Del Torro's Strain Trilogy, first book was excellent, the other parts not so much
Dan Brown... haven't read the new one yet, looking forward to it.

Very nice! Only one mention of Game Of Thrones!

Give this a chance for another excellent epic fantasy author:
Wars of Light and Shadow - ParaviaWiki

My choice: the 20 books that make up the Master and Commander series. Captain Aubrey and Dr. Maturin are the greatest bromance I've ever heard of.
