Default Post office no longer offer delivery Confirmation?

They told me they no longer offered it since January. Funny, I shipped something out in a different town on Monday. Do they still offer it for .90 extra?

Better change your post office, completely false.

You can get free DC from paypal online if you wanted.

My local post office stopped the optional delivery confirmation and automatically adds it

There is a sign at the counter of the PO I go to. It says something like "Delivery Confirmation is now Called USPS Tracking"

It's now called USPS tracking. They place it on the package when you use First Class mail as the method of shipping. If an item is insured for $200 or more the only number you can use to track the package is the one on the Insured Mail Receipt.

they do it internally...but you can pay for it and then you can track it online or whatever...

They have been hiring some real winners lately at lower wages to save money....they are saving money but losing it from their employees not offering enough services to up sales.

Yes this is the true information

All Packages are tracked now. If you pay .90 at the post office (free using PayPal shipping) you can track it online if you don't pay the extra you can't track it online BUT the post office can track where it's at if you go in and give them the number that's printed with the package

Wait, so, it seems stupid to pay the dollar for tracking now then. I mean I get that paying the dollar you have a tracking number to give your customer but beyond that there really is no reason?

The idea is that you can give ebay/paypal or whomever the DC that you payed extra for so that you have proof it was delivered.

USPS tracking (which is free) will not give you a number...even if you ask them for it...it wouldn't work online in the same manner.

Go with paying extra if you have any doubts or your instincts tell you to go the extra mile....just in case

I'm just not understanding why they would be willing to track every single package for themselves but the minute we want that information it costs us. Why on earth do they "track" the packages that we don't have tracking on? What purpose does that serve?

Package delivery is getting BIGTME with everything switching to online sales..no more brick-and-mortar stores...

the future looks bleak for them and their 1,000,000 ex-employees sucking away their profits over the past hundred years with their pensions and healthcare
