Only Celtics game I bought this year was for the Thunder, and no Durant....AGAIN. 3 out of the last 4 years he has missed the Boston trip.

I hate this

Funny I heard through sportsbook.com twitter feed

@Sportsbook_com: BREAKING NEWS...Kevin Durant out 6-8 weeks with fractured foot. All NBA markets suspended!

@Sportsbook_com: Kevin Durant is one of a handful of players that could shift the entire NBA betting market

I had a Pseudo-Jones fracture (a bit further down on the base of the 5th metatarsal) that I suffered when someone stepped on my foot in a pickup game this April. No surgery but they gave me a boot and crutches. Had the crutches for about 4 weeks and the boot until the first week of June then I was allowed to pretty much resume activities. It still can get a little sore right when I wake up in the morning but I was playing basketball again in July and running.

In regards to Durant you never know how surgery on your feet will go as your feet obviously support your entire body,, but I guess with a regular Jones fracture surgery is almost always required and you cant just slap a boot on it and keep off it for a month or two. Best of luck to him in his surgery and recovery!

Lots of short memories here. Durant has been hurt before and Westbrook carried the team nicely. This is going to be good for OKC in the long run.

Wasn't that when they still had Harden?

This sucks. It will be interesting to see how they start off without him.

That sucks, hopefully he comes back with no ill effects.

Also interested to see what happens on Blowout during those 6-8 weeks lol.

Probably nothing. LeBron is still playing, and Kobe and Rose are back.

Now, if this was Bron who was hurt, then maybe BO would crash.

Time to put money on LeBron for MVP (and Anthony Davis, available at 50-1, which is surely worth a few dollars even if it's a long shot).

Fantasy wise, how far down you think KD will drop? I'm assuming if you have an injury reserve slot, id' still pick him early first round.

This is Westbrook's chance to prove himself without the aid from KD. He will be averaging at least 30 points per game.

The young guys are going to benefit more than Westbrook. OKC either go small and space with shooters (Morrow at SF), and open minutes for Lamb at SG; or they'll stay big and Perry Jones could play a lot as the wing defender from SF (Roberson backing up here?).

Their schedule is definitely weaker early and tougher late. This could cause OKC to drop to a 3 or 4 seed if they play .500 without Durant. Opens up the door perfectly for San Antonio to steal home court again. Also helps a team like the Warriors, who get two games in before Christmas and finish the 4 game season series on January 16th, and if they can win the Pacific they'd likely have most of the tiebreakers on OKC.

Curry is probably a better option than Davis, but there's probably better value on Duncan (125-1) Leonard (200-1) on the thinking San Antonio gets #1 seed, or on Aldridge (66-1) or Lillard (100-1) if Portland challenge and win the division and a #2 (or better) seed.
