I was driving around this weekend listening to talk about the NBA playoffs. So I was thinking about upside/downside I guess is the right wording for several guys. So I thought I'm bored at work so I'd see what others thought just for discussion. I'm just recently getting back in to collecting cards, I did autographs the last 7 or so years full force.

Curry - I think his upside has came already. I don't think there is any more growth. Even if he comes back, wins the championship, MVP, and Finals MVP. I just don't see his cards can go up much more. I think personally they are going to go full downward trend for a while. They will still have value, he is one of the top guys in the league.

KD - I know autograph wise I did well with moving some KD stuff his MVP year. I still have a HUGE pc collection because he is my favorite player. His value on that side has gone down because he signs so much. Card wise I think he can still have a good amount of growth. I feel that if he were to go to the right team and win a championship that they would go up. I also see more MVP's in his future so I think they will go up. I personally hope he doesn't have downward trend. I'm sure an injury or a few rough years may bring him down. BUt with KD I feel that he will always have enough fan support to carry his value.

Klay Thompson - I think he could shoot up... a lot. I see him as a future superstar, if hes not already there. It will be hard for him to do that with Curry in front of him and take the spotlight. But he is a guy I think could be a major NBA face for a long time.

Draymond - I think his stuff is as high as it'll go. I don't see him winning an MVP or anything to shoot his value up. Maybe a small rise with championships but not a great deal.

John Wall - I think if Washington were to get a big name to go with him then they would be a major force in the East and that would help him get more spotlight.

Beal - Same as wall. I don't think Beal is a superstar but I think some attention for Washington could bring good value to him.

Devin Booker - I think there is a lot of room to grow for him... or I hope there is. I'm a UK fan and have been big on him since then. I only have 1 card of his right now so if you want to move some I'll buy.

Demar Derozan - I don't know if being a Raptor will ever give him good growth. I've been a fan of his most of his career. Just don't think the market is there.

Kawhi - I think he still has room to grow. Maybe even a lot!

Aldridge - I think he will get some growth in playing with the Spurs and chasing titles.

Lillard - I think that he could be one of the next big jumps. His stuff has already started I am assuming but I think he's on the verge of being the next great star.

If you want to add more names and discuss feel free. Like I said its a slow day at work. The above is from a guy that's been out of the hobby so it may sound like a complete idiot.

Dennis - Once he controls himself and not play wild and reckless, I think he can do very well for the Hawks.

I like him a lot, I think he's really starting to come into his own in the NBA. Hopefully the hawks get rid of Teague and let Schroder do his thing

OP, other than Booker the guys you have named have largely maxed out. Of course there is room for literally all of them to grow including Curry if he tore up the finals. But guys like Beal and Wall, if they add a KD type superstar he will largely overshadow them. Any growth in their value will have to mimic team success.

It will be very hard to find the next "big" veteran to blow up because the NBA is so top heavy right now. I think the best place to look actually might be Minnesota for the next players though. That team is gonna be off the hook with some experience.

AD will continue his downward spiral while Giannis will keep going up

Downward spiral? AD was number 7 in the league in scoring. He averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds a game.

I agree, Minnesota will be hard team to run with once they get some experience going. I actually had Towns on the list and then ended up taking him off for some reason.
