Autograph and memorabilia cards have only been around since the late 90's, so none of it is considered 'vintage' yet. In the future, near or far, how do you expect early/mid 00's Upper Deck autograph/memorabilia cards will fare value wise? Especially for low numbered stuff and for guys like MJ, Kobe, Lebron, etc.

I'm specifically mentioning early Upper Deck because I feel that memorabilia/autograph cards have been way too watered down in the last few years, especially in the Panini era. There are now multiple 1/1's for almost every card and if it isn't a sick 4 color patch auto 1/1, it's usually not worth much unless it's a rookie. It was different in the early/mid 00's when pulling something as simple as a plain color jersey auto card was an amazing feat, unlike today where 2-3 colors are basically expected.

So how in-demand do you think these early Upper Deck cards will be, especially for the big dogs? Do you see room for growth in the next few years or do you think they've all pretty much hit their peaks?

Everything is going to be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, including graded base Jordans in Wizzards uniform. Hoops, Mcdonalds, you name it.

Allegedly.

I kinda hope so OP. I have some nice 00-01 to 02-03 KG's and have always thought cards from that era are underpriced.

Great post OP---I'm not a big singles collector.

I am however a big unopened box collector and I will tell you unopened upper deck products from 2001-2008 have basically dried up. (reasonably priced boxes anyway)

Clearly Jordan/LeBron auto's prior to 2009 are more expensive than later years. The same goes for Kobe/Durant auto's.

So in answer to your question: I say yes, as Panini continues to dilute the basketball market, these so called "early auto's" should separate themselves from the crowd.
