I have no idea why people hate LeBron. He has never been in trouble with the law. He gives a TON to charities. He's the best player on the planet. Some say he made a mistake doing "The Decision" but that raised millions for The Boys & Girls club so that is a heck of a mistake to make. What exactly is the problem with him?

Personally, I didn't like him more for being a player that was anointed before doing anything (he entered the NBA with the nickname, King James) and then not living up to his potential. To put it mildly, he was soft and wouldn't step up to the plate and take the big shot when necessary. Wouldn't take over the game and the team when he should've and could've.
The guy is undeniably a top 5 of all time physical talent. But I would put him just outside the top 10 of overall NBA players.
The decision, playing GM, and the flopping didn't help.
With all that said.
The Lebron that showed up in games 5, 6, and 7 is the player I've expected him to be since he first led the Cavs to the playoffs with a bunch of nobodies.
He showed he was and could be a leader, the guy to take over the game when necessary, and make the right decisions. If he continues to play like this, I could easily see 3 more rings for him and cement his place as a top 5 All-time player.

To be fair, that name was given to him by the media. He was a kid who had the spotlight on him from an early age and literally grew up in the social media era. It is pretty unfair to blame a kid who was growing up a man's league right out of high school with those expectations thrust upon up, at no fault of his own.
Judge him by what he became, not by how he started. He grew up in the league.

He might not be the clutch moment player people expect from him but that block was a clutch moment. That sparked this:
1. LBJ hustling back for the block on Iggy
2. Irving 3
3. Love switching and playing great D on Curry

I didn't necessarily hate that he was anointed King James. It was that he didnt live up to that nickname when he obviously could. It was the wasted talent that I hated more. I had no issues with the expectations. My issues were that he just lacked the killer instinct necessary to win the big games. He showed that he does have that and I truly hope he continues to play with that leadership and killer instinct he showed in games 5, 6, and 7.
So when he shoots all the time he needs to get others involved. When he gets others involved he needs to shoot more. Dude can't win.
Given that you quoted me I have to assume this was directed at me. Not sure where I said he needed to shoot more and/or blamed him for shooting to much. I thought he was great in the final 3 games. He took over when needed, but also passed when appropriate. There were certainly times I wished he had taken the shot instead of passing, but they were much fewer and far between than previous. At the end of the day when the game is on the line or the circumstances dictate, Lebron should be the one to step up and take over or take the shot. Something he showed a distinct lack of doing. I'm not saying he should be shooting all the time. But when the game is on the line, he should be the one to shoot it.

The difference is the situation and WHEN the pass occurs.
If you watch when Lebron passed it was way before the need to pass was there.
Jordan would drive, fake, etc. and if he got doubled or tripled THEN he would pass.
Lebron would pass at half court before making any type of move to the basket. He would have the ball behind the arc, face the basket, see a defender, and pass.
At the end of the day if you ask the question, who takes the final shot? The answer was always Jordan. Or Kobe for the Lakers. But you ask that question with Lebron and the answer was always, Lebron SHOULD take the shot, but far to often he didn't/wouldn't.
I'll be the first to admit that changed in games 5-7. I was very happy to see it. I'm a realistic sports fan also. My team is the Lakers. I was just answering your question on why people hate Lebron. My answer is only why I hate(d) Lebron.

I don't think Lebron's passing is soft. It is more about decision making in the 4th quarter. It is a smart basketball to pass to wide open teammate. It is not a smart basketball when you play hot potato game. First one is about making play. Second one is about being passive.
Lebron offensively was not at his best in the last 4 mins. His 3s and 3 FTs were clutch. The block on Iggy was clutch.
Other than these, both teams had their looks, but they went silence. Kyrie hit the 3s from ISO move. If not Kyrie's 3s, we would be talking about Lebron's poor closeout today.

As far as I'm concerned, he wrote his own redemption story and delivered under the greatest of stress. I don't need to be his friend or admire his personality to respect this.

I can't speak for other but I can say it from my point of view.
Basketball wise, there is almost nothing to hate LeBron for. Incredible talent, excellent passer, amazing basketball IQ. I never criticized him for passing to open players or taking shots when he needed too. 99% of the time he makes the right decision.
It's the other stuff that is annoying. The constant flopping - even when he's the strongest P4P guy on the floor. The whining. The dancing on the sidelines. The insane theathrics - not one, not two, not three. The fact that he created a TV show for his "decision" - and that wasn't about the kids, that was about him. The fact that he doesn't think he should be called a b**** in a game because he has two kids.
It's actually very easy to hate LeBron from a sports perspective, almost as easy as it is to appreciate what a great basketball player he is. I love Jordan but I can easily see why people would hate him. Same with LeBron. Despite everything, I'm happy I can say I was able to watch the two best basketball players of all time. Hurt my feelings? Not really. I just don't like when people try to pass something like that when the intentions were different.
The decision was about LeBron's ego and need for attention. I think even the biggest LeBron fans can admit this. The fact that he donated 6M to the club (which is great) doesn't erase the fact that it was about him.
And I'm not making LeBron some kind of evil person by any means. I don't think he's a terrible person. However, I'm not gonna think he's a great role model because he's never been accused of rape of murder.

Why can't someone have the opinion that Lebron is a turd? I mean good god, people on here are such babies...... he could be the best player ever, and if he is?.... so what as far as his appeal or personality. I think Kobe is the biggest turd I have ever seen in the NBA. I think Lebron is a turd as well; MJ also......... their appeal to me as human beings have nothing to do with the way they are viewed as great players. I could care less about their donations to charity. That doesn't make them "less of a turd". People donate all the time because it's politically correct, it gets written off, etc. These 3 guys are worth like 2 billion dollars. Lebron wreaks of arrogance in my opinion, just like Tom Brady. The looks on their faces say everything. Maybe that is what makes them so great...... but for someone to have their opinion of a guy criticized like this is an absolute joke.
I for one prefer the Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Ray Allen type of guys....... maybe their demeanor is why they aren't as good as LJ, MJ, Kobe.... but in my eyes at least they are not turds

Kobe being a rapist or not might be a grey area, but here's something that's not: He ran out of town arguably the most dominant big man of the modern era because of his ego. They could have run the 00's if they stayed together. There is no way Lebron would have been that stupid.

I love this post. I think that is why so many people hate Lebron and call him a crybaby - you hear the same things about Tom Brady. It's not that he's not the best player in the league, but it's the fact that he whines about every call. There will be a time when he retires, and hopefully by then that arrogance will get wiped out.

Lebron wouldn't do that because he needs them to win. Kobe on the other hand won 2 more after shaq left. Keep reaching.
Oh stop with that nonsense. Kobe had prime gasol/odom/bynum down low for his 2 other rings. How conveniently fans forget that in 05-07 when kobe led the league in scoring and was in super saiyan chucker mode that the lakers didn't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, much less make the finals.
Meanwhile fans point to Lebron taking underdog teams to the finals and losing as some indictment of his game. Cmon.

Yea, touting Odom and Bynum as super star Hall of famers now. Really reaching now. You're the trying to prop lebron and using the tool of trashing kobe to do it. Thats not how you give credit to a player. You don't go and make an argument that Lebron is great because kobe did something. Nutso.

I seem to have missed where I claimed Bynum and Odom were hall of famers. Nice strawman, though.
Any of Gasol/Bynum/Odom would be better than Lebron's 2nd option on that Cavs team he took to the finals, or hell, even last year's Cavs team.
And you really, really need to work on reading comprehension. Who's trying to prop up Lebron by trashing Kobe? I pointed out that Kobe is seen as some sort of a 'winner' when he's had huge help to win his championships (and done nothing when he hasn't had any), while Lebron, even in his losing efforts with no supporting cast has done pretty much everything he could, while he (before this Finals, anyway) gets labeled as a 'loser'.
But you keep swinging on Kobe's nuts. I don't care - I live in Southern California - you people are a dime a dozen down here.

What are you saying? That kobe won because he had help and Lebron won because he never had help? Both Lebron and Kobe have had help when they won. Intact every single team that has won a chip has had a main star and help for them. When a player loses in the the finals, he is a loser. Only the winning team gets the trophy and are considered the winners. Thats how it works. So when Lebron comes in 2nd place, he is not a winner. Just like when Kobe doesn't come in first place, he isn't a winner.

Kobe is generally seen as a 'winner' because of his championships, but of course, as you said, he had a lot of help. Lebron, when he's had the help, has also won championships.
But when Kobe was playing with the Smush Parkers of the world, he didn't even make it past the first round and no one seems to bring this up and this doesn't tarnish his legacy at all, but when Lebron takes similarly talentless casts to the FINALS and loses, critics point to this as evidence that he's a loser. How does this make any sense?

Is there any chance that the teams they faced back then were different than the teams faced today? Your argument works if all else stays constant. If the teams both the lakers and Cavs faced were exactly the same and one loses while the other wins, then you can make a point. But they weren't the same teams so that theory that lebron won crappy team mates against the same calibre team that Kobe faced with his crappy team.

Sorry, you are fretting over petty chit. LeBron is a class act, who plays in a new generation of basketball. Social media forces you to see this stuff. No one cared about Jordan and his tongue, but everyone gets up in arms about some dancing and Curry chewing on a mouthguard.
Next people will talk about how soft the NBA is now. Want to know who got soft? The fans. All of these "old-school, bad boy Piston lovers" whining about a game, on an Internet message board.

It is all theory, a theory in which I beleive.
Jordan's dad was killed by people connected to bookies (organized crime). Jordan is a notorious gambler, and at the time he did not make the money he made towards the end of his career.
According to the initial police reports, Kobe brought a woman to his room. She said no, he ignored her and had sex with her. That is rape. She never recanted her claim, however, she settled out of court for an undisclosed large sum. She never sought fame or boom rights after the fact. Kobe wouldn't settle unless he was effed within the court system. And then he gave his wife a huge diamond. Nothing says guilty like buying love and paying off a chick who claimed rape.

LBJ was incredible in the series and during the year and yes, through out his career thus far. He continues to break record after record but to earn the respect I have for Kobe and MJ...
I'd like to see him win with a team he grew up with. Sure he may acquire several sidekicks like Love, Kyrie etc as MJ got his Rodman, Harper etc while Kobe got his Pau (Shaq got his Kobe hehe).... all that is the job of the GMs...
What LBJ did, jumping ship from CLE to MIA just coz he saw what was happening or whatever his reason made me lose respect for him. He just wants too win, true but try winning with what you have and sticking it in right? He had all the parts he wanted in CLE but just had to become a b*tch and take the easy road instead of sticking with the program and just make it work.

We don't know that.
We don't, and the cavs won by four points, not 3. I knew some with an agenda would try to sway all the credit to kyrie to diss lebron, it's common sense they would try to do that hence why I made the thread showing where lebron scored 11 of the cavs 18 points in the fourth. The d tightened up so much in that last quarter, the whole Warriors team only managed to score 13 points. Not taking anything away from kyrie, without him the cavs don't win, but I can't say without him hitting the late 3 the cavs still don't win.

LeBron is a class act... great for the sport and a great role model for kids overall. Anyone who doesn't get this is just a sad little hater.
Want to see a lack of class? Don't cry about LeBron's tshirt... instead look at Curry throwing his mouthpiece and hitting a fan. Very classy. Or Curry's wife tweeting about how the Finals were fixed and Cleveland is racist. Meanwhile Lebron is funding college scholarships for 1,000 kids at a cost of approximately $42,000,000. But yeah... LeBron worse a tshirt or something.
A little smacktalk in sports is great. But short of someone being a total a-hole or a cheater (exs... Patrick Kane beating up a cab driver over $0.17 change or Tom Brady cheating, again) it's strange to hate a sports figure that much. If you have that level of vile hatred for a player, you need to get a life.

LOL... you nailed it. He's always trying to overcompensate for something on here with the way he acts. No sense even engaging him. I usually just ignore him now. I honestly don't think he even follows sports that closely.

I find the ultimate warrior shirt fitting and funny as hell since beating the warriors. It makes Lebron the "ultimate warrior," straight up clowning GSW.
Others find it classless. Smh. Laugh sometimes people. Stop being uptight.
The most unselfish super star in the Nba.
Who cares what he does off the court.

Why are we so worried about Lebrons shirt (which was hilarious actually, lighten up), when we have serious topics to discuss like the fact that MJ murdered his father! Come on BO, let's get real here!
I knew a thread titled "Lebron is a turd" would deliver!

Huge turd. He is so bitter and angry. I caught a few minutes of his speech and he was talking about Kevin Love's defensive stop against Curry and made a point to say, "And that was against a 2-time MVP! But we don't need to talk about that right now..."
Once again insulting Curry and his MVP award. We get it Lebron. You are the king. You are awesome. You are 6'8 275lbs and you blocked two shots from a 6'3 180lb guy and then stared him down. We get that you should be the MVP every year. Reminds me a bit of MJ during has hall of fame speech. Get over it and enjoy the moment dude.

That's all. Call me a hater. Block me, banned me. Say what you want. The guy is a turd. Great player, one of the best. But a turd non the less.
Nobody has asked why you think he's a turd. So, why do you think he's a turd?
I have my own opinion of him -- he was a dick to my friend in high school and I've heard other stories about him not being so friendly to fans.

And if that's all he had done it would have been glorious and commendable. But no, he has to continue to put in subtle and not so subtle jabs. It just shows a bit of immaturity in my opinion. Maybe I'll have a trophy made at the local trophy shop that says "MVP" and mail it to him and maybe he'll feel a little better.

I hate when fans judge a player by his demeanor or off the court actions.
I watch basketball for basketball, not a TMZ report or to help raise my kids.
Some people take this thing too seriously. 'Jordan was a terrible human being and had a gambling problem...Lebron isn't a nice guy and wouldn't sign my autograph back in high school.'
Etc etc
As long as the guy isn't convicted of perpetrating a federal crime, then I could care less what they do in public or behind closed doors.

Coming next in panini cards, players turds.

At autograph signings, he will wear headphones so that he doesn't have to talk to any of his fans. screw you Lebron - people are paying you to sign for them. The least you can do is at least pretend to be there.

This thread is just cracking me up.
I can accept Hoopaholic says Bron is a Turd, but that doesn't bother me.
I personally liked Lebron even he did that stupid Decision thing, I thought that doesn't bother others either until one day one of my friend came to my face and yelled at me saying that Lebron is a shame and if I liked him , I'm no better than him. (btw, this friend defriend me and we never talked cause I told him to fuxX off)
Players swap teams, no matter in any way, just the decision on TV is kinda stupid.
But so what?
I mean Guys...Why so serious?
If Lebron is a turd and even everyone agrees, he's gonna be the turd I liked the most in NBA.

Technically one leg is shorter than the other so if we walked in the same direction with no clear path, we would end up walking in a large circle. The possibilty of meeting would be there! :D:D:D

This article is such BUll$HIT it not even funny. Lebron never CHEATED or lied. Also funny how the article did not mention Lebron personally thanking all his teammates one by one in his pared speech. I never heard anyone one else do that before. Nice try by the article though probably boston homers. Also it not bad to talk about your self once and a while who gives a crap.
And LEBRON SHOULD TALK ABOUT HIMSELF NOW AFTER ALL THAT curry is better than Lebron bull$hit he deserves to boast a little after a historic finals comeback and murdering curry.

Some people on this thread must have brains the size of M&M's......A decent amont of people don't like Lebron because he comes across as an arrogant dbag...... the look on his face says everything I personally need to know about the guy as a person. It is very similar to Tom Brady in football.... the constant sh*t eating grin; wreaking of arrogance because they know they are the best players of this generation in each of their sports. It just is what it is. Words are fine, walk the company line, be politically correct....... but take a look at facial expressions; for both of them..... it speaks volumes
Everyone doesn't have to have the same opinion. Lebron may very well be the best player ever when all is said and done..... as may Brady in football... yet I think they are both turds....... SO WHAT...... some share that opinion and some don't.................. but my lord for people to get such a sore anus from another opinion is the stupidest thing ever
It's not like anyone is saying Lebron sucks as a player.... which would be a false statement.... people are calling him a turd because they just don't like him for whatever reason... get over it

I disagree. Why pretend sports happen in a vacuum? A lot of good comes out of sports. It's why I'm a fan. It's also why I care about the people playing them.
