One of my first thoughts was that this would make determining production a lot trickier. But it looks like it's only Black autos in the hot packs.

Featuring a tweaked format from 2015, 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball is still a haven for prospect collectors with a major focus on the 2016 MLB Draft picks. Now only found as Jumbo Hobby boxes, each includes three autographs.

The base set in 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball includes 200 cards with a large mix of parallels. Paper options include Silver, Blue (#'d), Green (#'d), Gold (#'d), Orange (#/25), Red (#/5) and Black (1/1), while Chrome versions offer Refractor, Sky Blue Refractor, Purple Refractor (#'d), Blue Refractor (#'d), Green Refractor (#'d), Gold Refractor (#'d), Orange Refractor (#/25), Red Refractor (#/5), and SuperFractor (1/1) parallels.

Bringing on-card autographs for top draftees, Chrome Draft Pick Autographs are joined by Refractor (#'d), Purple Refractor (#'d), Blue Refractor (#'d), Green Refractor (#'d), Gold Refractor (#'d), Orange Refractor (#/25), Red Refractor (#/5), and SuperFractor (1/1) parallels. Limited Wave Refractor parallels add to the rainbow. There are also random seven-card hot packs in 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball that only feature Black Refractor autographs.

Among the other signed cards in 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball, Draft Night Autographs document the top picks with images from the evening of their selection and feature Gold (#'d), Red (#/5) and SuperFractor parallels. All-America Game Autographs (#'d) look at top high school options from previous years. Gold Framed (1/1) parallels exist for the All-America signatures which are an incremental hit.

As far as basic inserts, 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball has several. MLB Draft History covers top draft picks of the past who are now retired, Bowman Scouts' Fantasy Impact tries to predict the future success of top young players, and Draft Dividends evaluates those players who saw their draft stock rise between high school and college. Each includes Gold (#'d), Red (#/5) SuperFractor (1/1) and low-numbered Autograph (#'d) parallels

Lastly, Top of the Class Box Toppers are a limited inclusion that comes in several versions. Beyond the numbered base jumbo card, there are Gold (#/50), Red (#/5) SuperFractor (1/1) and Autographed Orange (#'d) parallels. These are also incremental hits.

Fair points, but makes me want to point out that getting rid of this, 'Oranges only in these cases, golds only in these cases' really bodes as a win overall for the collector. I thought those ideas were really dumb from the get go.

If you guys want smaller checklists, don't preorder the product. The information provided is just what Topps knows for now. After the pre orders are in place, they'll determine how many autographs are needed to fulfill demand. If the demand is there for the product, Topps needs to fulfill it somehow, and each player can only sign so many autographs.

I want to see what chrome does. I'd really like to think someone in topps front office said we need a big 2016 under the bowman name this year to save it after some really lousy years but everyone hs a right to be skeptical. If chrome is a big hit....Could be a huge year for bowman products.

It was an attempt to save the "hobby" format. Topps has obviously determined it wasn't working. I liked breaking them more than jumbo because those cases produced more variety, but I guess my decision will be made for me this year, which I'm OK with.

A guy at my LCS has a friend at Topps and he mentioned that there is a lot of regret going around over the Asia exclusive draft cases at Topps. So I'm hoping we won't see anything like that again.

I thought the same thing - I think this move caters to multi-case breakers and Group breaks more than anything else to maximize the return on Auto's...I think this move isn't great for the couple box-1 case buyers who don't want to spend a ton

you're ok to think what you want but lets look at percentages...

topps chrome hobby as an example... BO is 4% higher than distributor pricing (2% added to distributor cash price).

they were 17% higher on draft when they listed for 1030. dropping to 1000 they're now around 13% higher.

these are being offered for less elsewhere so yes BO can & may very well go down some more......
