Hi everyone,
Decided my hobbies I had picked up to replace baseball cards aren't cutting it so I'm getting back into the hobby on a much stricter budget than I used to. Two kids and a mortgage on top of graduate school will do that to you!
I have encountered a problem that I can't easily solve so I'm going to do what I do whenever I have a problem -- ask the experts! That would be you all. You're all experts. Congratulations!
I need $34.10 worth of stuff to get me to free shipping status from the Fantastic Online Place that we know and love. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the choices, I don't know what rookie cards are where, etc. Unless you ask me about Ginter, I've probably forgotten it. In fact, I couldn't even begin to tell you about anyone not on the Minnesota Twins or anyone not named Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper, or Mike Trout. So treat me like a stupid smart person, yes?
Looking for suggestions to fill my cart, would like to keep it as close to $35 as possible. I do not need $35 worth of supplies, but if you convince me of something that is $28 I can probably find a few supplies to get me the rest of the way. Clear as mud? Thought so.
Make your impassioned pleas to claim the title of the Most Helpful Helper and Biggest Knowledgebase of Blowout Products and Pricing. Whichever suggestion I end up taking I'll mail out a thank you present from some stuff on my desk. I promise it won't be from the pile of stuff my toddler has beat up in the last six months.
Telling me WHY you are recommending a certain product (or combination of products) helps (i.e. "Oh man, 2015 Allen and Ginter has Megan Kalmoe's rookie cards in it and that's awesome, and there is also that Kris Bryant guy too, and it's way fun to break!" etc, etc.). Just saying "2008/09 Fleer Hot Prospects Basketball Retail Box + supplies" is probably not going to be helpful. I despite basketball more than I despise the Yankees but less than I despise all combined presumed Presidential Nominees for both major parties, so not only is it not informative but it's borderline offensive. The only acceptable substitute for baseball cards are oddities (Goodwin Champions or anything with minis in it!) and Star Wars. Flagship, prospects, niche, etc. makes no difference to me I'm looking for a fun break with a reasonable potential for value, discounted is a plus but not a requirement.
I look forward to your suggestions!
*If I don't take anyone's suggestion, I'll random everybody's name who submitted a legitimate suggestion and whichever name comes out on top will get freebies.
