So, I went to a local card show today and it was a complete bust. My area primarily has baseball and football dealers. I was optimistic that there would be some nice basketball cards, but I had no luck.
So, can anyone, who has been to the Chantilly show before, tell me whether or not there are high end basketball cards? Are there at least like 3-4 dealers with them?
Just wanted to know if the trip would be worth it.
Thanks in advance!

Everything is marked up way over eBay with the exception of a couple of sellers...it's overall very disappointing

You've described most shows in general. Besides, do people really think a large building of sellers having fire sales of everything is actually a good thing in this hobby?
Chantilly has always been a pretty good show in my opinion. You have to put forth the effort by going thru dealers monster boxes.....that's where the true steals are to be had. If it's up front in a showcase....dealers consider these cards to be their eye candy typically, and aren't going to dump these items.

Chantilly is a solid show, have had a lot of success there. But it is not a very good show for basketball. The Wizards are the local team and I never find Wizards cards there. Primarily a baseball show.

The Chantilly has gotten much better with basketball cards over the last four years. At the April show I found some very rare high end cards at more than one booth.

Of course there are deals to be found. But I think op was wanting to know if it was worth his time. I was just trying to let him know that 90% of the sellers are trying to sell you their Jordan unc autos for $750-1,000

There's also this really tall, bearded weirdo who's always there. Guy loves to overpay for nice stuff. What an IDIOT.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off arrogant. Sadly any show...even the small ones here have those exact dealers you mention, trying to get Bulls prices for their UNC Jordan autos.
While the basketball selection can be very hit or miss, I'm used to that. Seems all the shows I attend are always baseball and football overload, which is what the majority of people are after.

I just thought this was common knowledge. Waive an 03 exquisite around that guy and he gets dizzy from excitement

If go to the show you can also go to Blowout's card shop called A Fantastic Store located about 5-10 minutes away. They have high basketball in their store.

This is correct, it is literally like 2 miles away from the convention center, but I would say there is a better selection at the show than the Fantastic Store, and probably better prices too.

Yes, there are a number of dealers with high-end basketball. Not sure about the prices though, but if you spend 45 minutes browsing, you will be able to find some very nice cards.
