The better from this set was the first jersey card I ever pulled. I absolutely fell in love with memorabilia cards, especially this set. It took me a while but I put the set together. I haven't gotten as much enjoyment out of having the set as I thought I would have, try to move in on a couple occasions with no luck.
Do me a favor, don't look anything up, not eBay, not worth point, not anything. Just on first impression, what do you value this 16 card set at?

See the problem with considering that an older set is many other companies were producing jersey cards in 2001 also. A lot actually. I may need that A-Train,I am missing that or the auto version. Don't remember right now, stuck his collection away and haven't been in it for a long while. Now go back a couple years when there were only a couple jersey sets offered. Those are the 1's I feel should demand a premium. I forget also but do those say game used on them? I love GU college cards.

Trying to move them on this board, as a lot, probably 30 bucks

Very nice. I don't remember this set but I do recall if you hit a jersey card back then it was quite a thrilling accomplishment.
Love that Manning!

I would guess 50 as a lot to someone who wanted the set, if a reseller would be buying my guess would be 30 because it could take awhile to move them.

No one is going to blindly offer? Everyone is going to check Ebay or worthpoint or whatever for prices. That could be an issue if you add monetary value to compensate what seems sentimental. Im a newer generation and just to answer the post, Id do like $20 for the entire lot. Just doesnt do anything for me.

Im not looking for an offer, I'm looking for a value.

The value only goes as far as how much someone is willing to pay for it, hence the replies ITT

The poster I quoted said nobody is going to come in here and blindly offer. That's not what I want.
I'm just wondering of there is a major difference in perception va reality for some of the older sets, and so far there is...

how much valued do you have on the set?
several people have told you our values, so what about yours?

Blind, probably an offer of $25.
If I did research, maybe $50 (didn't look it up)
What I assume OP wants- $125
To Most, they are only 25 or 50 cent jersey cards. With 4 names.

I value this set between $75-$100 dollars. Yes I understand that there are some $3-5 dollar cards in here. And yes most of the value comes feel
4-5 cards. When auctioned they go
Manning- $25
Brees $15- one went for $17 recently
Tomlinson -$12
Vick- $10
Aikman - $8
Faulk-$8
That's $78
I just wanted to see if this appealed to a very select market and its apparent it does.

I love the set. If it wasn't college uni I would have hopped on it 3 times over. Sucks no one likes them.

Just because people on blowout don't value the set as much as you, doesn't mean there isn't someone else out there who does as a set. Have found this to be true many times! I only pc college cards and there are many more of us out there. I have a hard time putting time And money into a guy when you never know what team he will be on from year to year.

My thoughts blindly were in the $50 range. LT and Vick have taken huge hits in value and I would assume the Manning and Aikman would be the leading money cards.
Not sure I ever pulled one of these - nice looking and sharp set.

Im not looking for an offer, I'm looking for a value.
Which is what I gave you. I wasn't offering $20 because I dont want it. I even said I'm of the newer generation, so the set does literally nothing for me. I'd value it at $20 because if I did want it, thats the most I'd pay...
Value and offer are pretty synonymous..
And people get offer/values based on sales on Ebay, BO, etc so when you try to take that away as a resource you are telling people (tell me what you would offer aka the value you think it is). Not sure how you didn't think my post was fairly straightforward?

love this set and also really like Honors Alma Mater Materials.
with the market today and it being flooded with college cards, and most collectors only want pro uniform. I am still amazed with a Derek Carr or Teddy Bridgewater rookie auto or event worn jersey selling for what Steve Young or Peyton Manning sells for. (just an example)
I think the market undervalues your set and you still see value in it. Totally understandable.
I see 7-8 of the cards in this set as $1-2 cards.
Manning maybe $15, Brees maybe $10, Tomlinson and Aikman maybe $8 a piece (TCU and UCLA don't have a huge backing), Vick - well we know what he did.
Faulk has a ton of SDSU jersey cards so I would say $5-7.
I would say maybe $60 tops on the set.
my 2 thoughts only.

i know the Manning auto from this set was a card I chased for years. It never showed up. I offered two times book value for one and never got a response. Finally after about ten years looking . I got one and have not seen one since. They do say game used on them

If you sold them off individually I'd $80ish sounds pretty fair but if you sold them as one set then $50ish is probably closer to the value. I know it's kind of ass backwards but you make your money from people looking to complete sets as opposed to buying a complete set. Nice set regardless!

Most are fair, i just dont see anyone paying 10 bucks nowadays for a vick jersey
"Am I overvaluing older jersey card sets?" Yes you are. Its unfortunate but its sadly true.
Over the past year I have chased the following sets.
1999 Prestige Signed Checklists
2000 Prestige Signed Checklists
2000 Finest Moments Autos
1997-2001 Skybox/Fleer Autographics
2000 Fleer "feel the game" "Patchworks" & "Feel the game classics"
Why? I started collecting again in 1999 and these were all very valuable and hard pulls at the time. I remember seeing cards like Walter Payton FTGC jerseys SELLING for over $100 routinely. I bought mine for $10 a few weeks ago (well it was lost in the mail but still).
You couldnt touch an autographics card for under $20 back in 2000. Now I bought probably 100 from COMC for $1 or $2.
These sets were all hard pulls. There were no 4 "hits" per box back then and ANY jersey card was special. Now its the exact opposite. Everyone wants that hot rookie and that guy has 100's of jersey/auto cards made each year.
Back "then" he MIGHT have 1 auto or jersey made per set. So I'm like you. I think they should be worth more. But that's just not the reality of the hobby.

I'm by no means trying to down your cards or this set. But honestly.....they're just jersey cards which are a dime a dozen these days. Manning, Aikman, Tomlinson, and Brees are the only major stars. Then Faulk and Johnson were really good players. Most people aren't going to care much for the rest of the players unless they are a fan of the college. If they're actually game used college that would add a little more value. But for instance the Tomlinson has a $30 price tag on it.....you can buy most Tomlinson autos for $20-$30 a pop. I honestly wouldn't give $30 for the entire set. In my opinion it doesn't matter if these were rare at the time because they're just jersey cards which certainly aren't rare these days.
