Which fight are you guys looking forward to the most?
For the first time ever when Dana says "this card is stacked!!" we wont have to roll our eyes! LOL. I kid......
I think I am most looking forward to seeing how Aldo responds in his first bout back after losing the strap.
And finally seeing one LHW strap.... tired of seeing shades of shawn michaels vs razor ramon.

There's no telling. It sucks that it's a 3 round fight too because lately it's taken Silva 3 rounds just to get going in his last few fights. I'm just glad they moved miesha Tate to the main event.

I thought Lesanr was going to be an easy night for hunt when it was first announced. Then I saw what brock was looking like at the weigh ins and then the stare down. Now idk.
Brock made hunt look kind of small. Lol. If brock has his explosiveness back might be the other way around.

Aldo is throwing Edgar around the ring when Frankie tries to shoot. He (Aldo) looks strong and ready, physically. Frankie just always puts in such good work, and he caught Aldo so far a couple times in the 2nd, but it just seems (so far) that Aldo is the superior fighter who is doing enough to win, and Frankie can't do enough.
Aldo just looks bigger and more ready at this point.

Sure does; he's making Frankie look average. He hasn't done anything spectacular, but he's looked like a true vet toying with a newbie.

I do draftkings, and I have had hunt in my lineups for weeks. I changed all but one of them to lesnar after I saw how much bigger he was. It may bite me in the end, but whatever. Lol.

I've never done Draftkings; don't know anything about it, to be honest, but I don't think that's a bad move. Brock just looks...he's always huge, but he looks strong, in shape, and ready to go.
But it's Hunt, and he ALWAYS has a true 'puncher's chance', so I can't discount that.
It may seem strange, going by Hunt's physique, but I wonder how Brock holds up if it goes the distance.
Aldo just had a super easy fight, imo, and it was a big disappointment. I thought this was going to be THE FIGHT of the card.

Yeah i just see brock taking him down and getting the stoppage from strikes while on top.
I also thought this was gonna be fight of the night. Hopefully aldo will look like that next time he meets McGregor.

The problem with Aldo vs McGregor is I really think Conor is too big for Aldo. I think he needs to move up to a bigger weight class. I don't think the jump that the media sensationalized was as big as it was made out to be.
I think McGregor gets his ass kicked again vs. Diaz, and then scurries back to try to beat Aldo again. If it's the Aldo we saw tonight, it'll be a great fight.
Silva...I don't know. He looks so soft, I don't know if it'll be an unprepared/out of shape fighter getting beat up by a fighter who's pissed off he lost out on a HUGE fight vs. Jones, or if Cormier might be so messed up mentally he might get upset.
Brock SHOULD run all over Hunt, but he has to do it in a smart way. Hunt will knock your head off, so if Brock can be patient with his gameplan, it could be a big TKO for him.

I don't see that at all. I love Anderson, but I just felt that Cormier did what he wanted to do, the entire fight, and although it was a shitty fight, he was dominant, in that he sat on Silva and landed some decent shots all fight.
No, he didn't beat him up, and no, it wasn't decisive, but he won the fight easily.
That Cormier, vs. Silva with a full training camp...he'd get mopped all over the octagon.
This fight sucked, but unfortunately, DC won.
jbrandonw
07-09-2016, 11:17 PM
Yeah that was easily cormiers fight. Cormier landed way more even though most were while on the ground. I knew it would go that way, and it doesn't help that lately Anderson doesn't get going til mid second-third round. I was entertained for the short times that they stood and traded, but I understand that's cormiers game.

What a great song. I used that as basketball warmups for years...lol.
Brock just looks so READY, but with Hunt, I don't know. 3 rounds helps them BOTH, and it should be a good fight. Hunt is just a tough guy, and has that great punching power, but Brock should, should run him over and take it to the ground and beat him up.

How many times in the first did Brock have the chance to take Hunt's neck, especially towards the end, but he didn't know how. It was there, so easy, but man...he wants to ground and pound. I get that, but it's there, man; take it!

Brock had his run in the first round, but the second, he looked tired, and it looked scary for him, because Hunt looked like he just stepped in the octagon.
Brock's cardio sucks, really bad. That's what hurt him vs. Cain, because Cain's cardio is always (almost) great, but man...if he had some mat skills, the fight would be over.
But, unfortunately, Paul Heyman isn't here to interfere.
I like Brock, but mass and power doesn't always win.

"Assuming" Holly Holm wins her next fight, why would Pena leapfrog her to fight Nunez? All this fight shows is that Holm was far to lax when she fought Tate. Didn't let her hands go and paid for it late in the 5th. Dana White will want Holm or Rousey to fight for the strap next.
Pena is a top 5 contender and just beat #3, Holm opponent is barely in the top 10.

people dogging cormier are insane...you have to realize if it was the other way around....there would be 100% no shot Jones would have even taken a new opponent on 2 days notice...he just wouldnt do it...he wouldnt risk his precious "unbeaten" record....so to get mad that cormier played it safe to win a fight on 2days notice...is crazy to me....all the pressure was on cormier!! anderson had absolutely nothing to lose...
brock ....man i was impressed....same thing here...you have to keep it realistic....he was gone for 5 years!!! came back and fought the biggest hitter in the division....where pretty much everyone (media/fighters/fans) were predicting that brock would get KTFO...instead he won the 1st round clearly and if he had 30 more seconds he would have finished him at the end of the round when he got mount....round 2 sucked for both guys...and round 3 brock took him down and dominated him...i mean its really impressive that just on his athletic ability and strength he was able to beat the #6 or 8 guy in the division rather easily...yea im not saying he would win the title nowadays...but just to get that win on short notice and a 5yr layoff is pretty damn awesome performance...
meisha...yikes...she looked HORRIBLE!!! i am a big fan...thought she would weather the storm early and then dominate...she looked like she wanted nothing to do with this fight! from the opening bell she looked checked out...not engaged in the fight...got brutally smoked...i mean she looked worse here than ever before...horrible showing for her...
cain looked awesome...that is all
edgar/aldo...man i was with most others that i saw in thinking edgar was gonna get the win...he got owned...like others said earlier...just seemed like aldo was toying with him basically....

Nunes is the real deal. Only girl in the UFC with POOOOOWWWEEEERRRR.
My takeaways:
Tate: GET REKT, she got completely outclassed in stand up, was sad to watch.
Lesnar is a beast and the fact he beat a title contender in the calendar year, after 5 years not fighting was impressive.
DC GSP'd Anderson.
Frankie had no desire to put Aldo away even though he was losing pretty handily.
Nunes won't hold the belt for very long...1-2 fights max.
