Technically, in michigan, it's considered assault if you feel threatened. It doesn't only apply to physical violence.

The guy just wants money, bet there's a civil suit and they settle out of court

[WLNS 6] Former MSU and current NBA star Draymond Green was arrested for assault early Sunday morning after a source tells 6 News the basketball player slapped an MSU football player.

The source knows Green and is in a position to know his side of the story.

The run-in with the football player actually stretched back to late Friday night/early Saturday morning, when the source says Green and the football player ran into each other at a local bar.

The source says the player felt disrespected because Green didn’t recognize him and insulted the Golden State Warrior.

Green, the source says, decided to leave the bar.

But a day later, at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, the source says the player ran into Green again at a downtown East Lansing restaurant and continued to curse at him. The source says the football player started moving towards Green, so Green slapped him with an open hand.

East Lansing police were in the immediate area and took Green into custody.

What does that tell you, if they do? He punched another person, which is considered assault, but because it's Draymond Green, they university will ''get involved''...in what way?

What Green does or does not do for the university shouldn't be a factor on if he committed an assault or not.

For what it's worth, it's not a big deal to me. No injuries to either party, and hopefully it doesn't escalate from here. Obviously, if this was some random frat boy punching another frat boy, we wouldn't be discussing it, but you can't let someone get away with this just because they are Draymond Green.

What does that tell you, if they do? He punched another person, which is considered assault, but because it's Draymond Green, they university will ''get involved''...in what way?

What Green does or does not do for the university shouldn't be a factor on if he committed an assault or not.

I don't disagree with you, but I just don't find an open handed slap (allegedly) to be a big deal at all. Especially between two guys who know each other.

It is a non story. MSU alumni slaps an MSU football player. He didn't beat up his girlfriend, he didn't have a loaded weapon on him, he didn't kill anyone. He slapped a guy he's known for 4 years, who cares?

Nobody will care in a month.

ironically, i think if this didnt involve draymond you would have a different opinion.

Nah, my wagon is staked to domestic violence and/or violence against females.

Interestingly enough, Edmundson's girlfriend is now claiming that she was choked too, although not by Draymond specifically.

But yea, odds are it will all end up being resolved and swept under the rug. If one of the better Universities in the Big Ten can harbor a child molester for a few decade, certainly Mich St. can hide a bar fight.

I understand that, as I feel strongly about both issues.

I also am of the opinion that violence = violence.

Got a "visit"

I'm sure it went something like, you aren't going to play if you continue to pursue charges, etc.

My laptop died several weeks ago and I finally got a new one. I wasn't here when KD signed with the Warriors, either. :)!

I have an iphone, but don't really like using it for forums. I stick to twitter/facebook when on my phone.

Actually the article I read claims he was punched in the face and Green or friends of Green (cannot remember) choked him out and grabbed his girlfriend by her throat. A little more serious (it sounds) than a slap.
