Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo
Source confirms: White Sox are promoting Carson Fulmer to the majors, and he will be activated tomorrow.
Hope he's up for the task. The dude's delivery has to be seen to be believed.

"It is currently unclear if the White Sox will use Fulmer as a starter or reliever. He has exclusively pitched as a starter this season, but has rumored to be in consideration for a bullpen spot."

I don't think :flex: is the right way to describe Shields. I think he's more of a  or a

Shields has been a lot better lately FWIW. He started out horribly, but has definitely righted the ship.
Fulmer is going to the bullpen according to Chris Cotillo.

Fulmer is not a major league starter, not an ace, 2 or 3 anyway. I see him as a future closer.
They are showcasing him to Colorodo - for either Gonzalez or Blackmon.

He'll start eventually. But will be fun to see him going full tilt from the get-go in short bullpen stints.
He has always seemed to me to really feed of off the big stage, being "the guy" in big, important, high leverage innings and games. I am slightly concerned that a tepid Chicago crowd, and playing on some teams that might be going through the motions (the passion and intensity is very different in College Baseball than it is in the long slog of an MLB season), might lead him to struggle or lose his rhythm.
Hope they let him blare Icky Thump.

His stuff is electric but he is a real life Ricky Vaughn right now. He will be a closer eventually for sure.

Well the SEC is slightly more competitive than the California Penal League.

That 4.46 ERA in double A shows dominance ;)

Has to be the bullpen. Sale and Rodon also had their MLB career start in the 'pen. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Fulmer's long term home is in the bullpen as well.

Don't scout stat lines.
Chicago was messing with his mechanics for some reason. Looks like they're letting him get back to his natural motion.

I heard someone from Chicago management say they didn't change his mechanics and that he was doing it himself. Idk why he would though. He has done pretty well lately

Posted this in the other thread, but he has a WHIP of 1.53. He's been better his last couple starts, but that is a pretty small sample size. He's walking way too many batters. The WHIP is the concern here (specifically the walks).
I think the problem is that each assignment he's had has been too aggressive. Hi-A after being drafted is too aggressive. AA to start this year was too aggressive, and now moving him to the majors--well, you might have noticed a trend...too aggressive.
If he pitches out of the bullpen, maybe he has success initially--otherwise I just don't see it being a good move this year.

I feel like they rushed Rodon too and he can barely get out of the fifth inning.
