Meh his scouting report looks good, but he is 32. Kinda a confusing pickup for the Astros
They must want to move Bregman to a different position or trade him all together.

If Bregman is traded, how does that effect his prices? I should reword. OVI if he goes to the Yanks his prices will jump, but what if to the White Sox?

Astros are getting nothing from first and nothing from DH. This doesn't mean bregman is gone.
Valbuena is probably gone and Gattis is now a full time back up catcher with an occasional start elsewhere. Gattis has been fine behind the plate, I wonder if he platoons with Castro now.
If anything, this allows the Astros to move some veteran pieces at the deadline.

He is considered a top five prospect so I would think his prices would stay steady. Now if he does go to the yanks are LA I'd see his prices talking a jump. I don't know why you'd assume his value would drop if he went to Chicago. Bigger market then HOU.
I'd think this means he is gone

A strong team like the Astros who have never won a WS who are in a great spot, just signed a potential regular contributor and have the best minor league player as a trade chip, might want to move Bregman to win a WS. Obviously he looks MLB ready and would provide a tremendous return... Question is, what exactly would the Astros want in return?? What position do they want?? Pitching?? On the flip side, I think most teams would love Bregman, but a team like the Yankees would give them whatever they wanted.. He could be the next Jeter, lol.

I agree. People are to quick to just Dismiss someone for something like this. I'm sure he could play outfield. Plus gurriel is 32. Maybe he can't stay on third and has to play first
Bergman is a top 5 prospect in all the game. Unless you are getting back a stud you can't trade him.

I think that actually is incorrect thinking. It took a top pitching prospect in the game to get you a starter who has had one big half of a season. If you kind of use a sliding scale wouldn't that mean Bergman would only get you like a terhran or Jordan Zimmerman? Never elite talent, but certainly better then Pomeranz has ever been.
Granted it would be an everyday player so maybe he gets them more.

yeah seems likely they would move bregman for an ace. their best starter has been fister ad mchugh and keuchell have eras north of 4.50.
seems like a big gamble signing a 32 year old player who's only seen a handful of AB's against actual MLB'er in international tournaments in order to move one of the top prospects in baseball for a starter.
so is gourriel playing 3b for them? seems like a lot of money for a super utility guy.

I think you are jumping to conclusions. They aren't trading him unles they are getting a stud back.
Under 10 mil a year is about the going rate for someone who can get 400 high quality abs a year. That's not bad.

No better time than now to deal him and get someone big in return.

Oh I totally agree his stock is high, but unless they don't believe in him they could actually use him this year to make a real run! What do they want to trade him for? Do they think they'd be better with a better closer? Starting pitching? I don't know what is as valuable as what a 22 y/o bat could be to them. They are in the top 10 in pitching even with (my fantasy starter) Keuchel being awful in the 1st half yet they are middle of the road in team batting. I'd rather have the bat. There is room for someone in the outfield IMO btw.

One game in the middle of the year will not effect his stock that much. It's still high if he would have gone 0-5.
Unless they are getting back a legit top pitcher they aren't doing it.

Wait you don't take Bowden seriously lol. Look I'm a Bregman fan either way and as a owner of some of his cards I'd rather see him move to a better market. If I'm Houston though someone is playing 3rd and someone is playing somewhere in the OF with the struggle from Marisnick, Rasmus and Gomez out there.

Oh come on. They have already seen him plenty. From when he was 16 until time at LSU until the minors. He isn't an unknown guy.
People selling baseball cards, they get excited over one game. Actual scouts, they have already seen him enough that one game isn't changing much

The deal makes sense to me. It gives the Astros plenty of options at the deadline. They could be outright sellers if the market is hot. They could move Feldman/Fiers/Neshak and could move Valbuena/Gattis. Add to their farm system and make a big move in the offseason with their deep farm having gotten deeper.
The could trade the veterans above for a position of need.
Or they could be buyers and move Bregman for a stud pitcher with years of control left.
This move allows them to play the trade market, not the other way around.
Gurriel could easily move to first/DH. Bregman could stay at SS and Correa could move to third in the offseason. That is probably the best way to do it IMO.

Julio isn't getting traded just for Bregman. If he is dealt to Houston, I expect a few pieces to come back. Just look at the Miller/Swanson deal. Julio has more value than Miller and is signed to a team friendly deal through 2020.

-Prior to the signing (maybe yesterday) Bregman said he could play SS, 3B, or LF. Rasmus is a UFA. He could replace him.
-Saw a report that said as part of the signing, Houston must have had to make a handshake deal regarding his younger Brother. Can't sign until October. Brothers wants to play together. He's supposed to be good as well so if they can add him, even better.
-A different person also reported that when he asked someone that would know if Bregman would now be traded for a starter, it was a flat out no.

Not the best idea to use a bad deal as frame of reference.
Teheran's stuff and homers scare me, especially in Houston. If they are giving up Bregman I would hope they would try and get more of a true ace, or at least closer to that than Teheran.
That being said I don't think Bregman's going anywhere.

I don't see him getting Traded unless something Dumb comes up- Sale, Robertson and Abreu.
But, I would be curious to see the Yankees Push- Miller, Chapman, Then your pick beltran/Ellsbury/Gardner + some Cash.
Maybe the Yankees take back a lover Tier Prospect as well.

I don't see why they would have to yo-yo bregman. Marwin starts in 75% of the Astros games. Bregman can play every position Marwin does. If Marwin had an impact bat he would start every game.
The Astros don't have a DH or a first baseman right now. Bregman could DH and give correa/altuve/Gurriel days off and let them DH. I'm still wondering who will play first. My guess is valbuena or reed depending on who gets traded. Next year bregman can move to left. Or Gurriel can move to first.

So A.J. Reed is already a bust? Why isn't he good enough for 1B? Signing Gurriel is a Drayton McLane move in my book. Should just call up Bregman and rearrange the infield until happy medium is achieved. I never approve of shelling out millions for 30 something players no matter the player. He has no MLB accomplishments to warrant a payday at that age unlike a typical MLB star who has a decade of stats to prove worth.

But they arent. They want to build something that lasts.
Unless Jose Fernandez or Chris Sale are available, hes not being traded because they signed some 32 old Cuban
