I actually like the base cards as well. Dak seemed to save your break a bit. Probably his highest reselling point at the moment

yea, how are they getting away with making a product that looks just like inception

Short answer:

Because they named it Origins instead of Inception.

Same deal like when a company makes a knock off brand of cereal. Name recognition is key!

Were you happy with the break at the price point?

I was debating going to try 2 or 3 boxes as well but im on the fence.

Hey, I'm just holding out hope they don't stop this year.

Don't think it's a coincidence that the first product this year I would even consider buying was designed by Topps.

I absolutely cannot do it haha.

Just had my 3rd eye surgery yesterday so funds are tight. I gotta recoup some of what I spent and slow down. My next big project might be a case of Spectra. That was hands down my favorite product last year!

If I hit a big name in my first Origins box I will stop there...well try to atleast haha

Because people were fans of inception and since Topps is out the game why not try to nab the fans of it. They don't care fi they're copying it and neither will inception fans. Product will be purchased

they did same thing with another product coming out, Panini Phoenix Football.........which is essentially Topps Fire

Panini naming these with essentially synonyms is sort of hilarious, like a bit of a middle finger to Topps ... Phoenix/Fire LOL.

Nice break, OP!

You know guys, its not like Topps invented the tie dye plaint splash design. In fact, the only thing I can think of where Topps really invented and led in, is putting the stats on the back of cards in the 1950s. It was the non sport side of the market that really pushed insert card design in the early 90s. Skybox/Pinnacle that started hard on autographs, and Upper Deck with the relics. Taking from each other has been the nature of this hobby.
