Love certified...

10 packs is great..

Don't have to open 20-24 packs

but you know what would make products like this better.

just bit the bullet and have it 5-6 hits per box..

it is time to move from 4 to 5-6 for 80-90 dollar box...

I like that they went horizontal, but the player pictures look ridiculous and the text crawling up the side makes it look like they were too lazy to adjust it. Then when you see the dual swatch and the triple swatch autos, the design doesnt look adjusted correctly either. Just when you think they did something right, they completely fall on their face.

Yay, Upper Deck (and now) Topps are good...Panini bad. I think I've heard this song before.

You are partially right, not quite though.

Its Topps Low End and Five Star Good, past Upper Deck good, current Upper Deck irrelevant - Panini and Topps Mid to High End (especially triple threads) bad.

That's me in a nutshell, true, but at least its better than you in a nutshell.

Gellman bad, free swag and AFC championship tickets from Panini and Beckett (http://www.beckett.com/estore/news/?a=9134) makes them GOOD. I see why you love them and hate me. Makes sense.

I like them because, unlike your precious Upper Deck, they actually CARE about the collector and the hobby as a whole. I've been ripping Donruss products since 1989; you've been "out of the hobby" until recently and really have no idea the changes it has undergone, where it's been and where it's headed. But you continue to spout off about things you know nothing about (i.e. saying that a Ray Lewis/Ed Reed Dual Auto would be awesome because of the Super Bowl THEY played in together. Ummm, Ed Reed was drafted in 2003, a full 3 years after the Ravens won their Super Bowl. Nice fact-checking there journalist!)

Upper Deck has done nothing but destroy the hobby and, since we're on the subject of loyalties, wasn't it Upper Deck that got you into the Rookie Premiere Party this year?

And wasn't that a NON-AUTOGRAPH event?

And didn't you run around like a little girl at a Jonas Brothers concert getting autographs (on PANINI cards), which as I was told, really embarrassed Upper Deck and their employees to the point which one of them (a higher up at Upper Deck) asked "Who, the F*CK is that guy?" (Meaning YOU).

Shouldn't you at least ACT like you've been there before but you couldn't even do that. Running around with a semi and leg-humping Toby Gerhart. Yeah, I heard about that as well.

See, you're not the only one with "connections" throughout the hobby.

I still found it HI-larious that you couldn't make the National this year because of "the kid" but you were able to leave your newborn at home while you made an embarrassment out of you and Upper Deck.

Make sure you make it up to Dallas for the Super Bowl card show, I'll be there. I'm sure you'll have some excuse, Triple Bypass Surgery or something......

That? That is what you got? Wow, so fired up. I like it! I basically just tell it like it is, and you try to make me feel embarassed for being excited to meet a ton of NFL players? Yeah, I was like a little Jonas Brothers fan that night. It was ridiculously awesome! Anyone else want to go next year? I mean, Ill definitely have that shot again living in Texas now. Oh, but wait! Big bad Ryan thinks I embarassed myself in front of a bunch of people I will never see again! Guess im done with that! Yup, wont be flying out for that again when I have to go meet Ryan at the National like he is DYING for me to do.

You know, now that I think about it, Im actually legitimately questioning why you have such a hard on for meeting me. Is there something we need to know Ryan? Did Tracy stop taking your texts? "I miss being with you. I miss being *near* you. I miss your laugh! I miss your scent. Please Tracy!"

Alas, I should expect nothing less from a guy who thinks that spending three hours at a party while my wife took the baby to her friend's house to show him off is the same as spending an extended weekend at a card show 2000 miles away while she stays home caring for a 1 month old child by herself. No matter that plane tickets and hotel would cost hundreds of dollars, who cares about that, right? Maybe I should have put my family second to meeting a guy who just wants to hammer it out like men do. Now I see why you drive a lexus and have a hot wife or whatever it was that made you start that thread. You just have it all figured out.

Maybe instead of spending your hours stalking me on this forum, you should write another article for Beckett. Then you can feel big again like you did during that Patriots game. I know that one raiders guy would love to meet you as much as you want to meet me.

Im done, baby is starting to wake up.

EDIT: Missed the Fat joke at the end of your post. Good one. You know what is funny? Someone sent me your picture a few months ago. You posted in some thread. I have a feeling that you may be the fat one in this conversation now, my chubby compadre. See, thats the great thing, fat people can always lose weight, but a-holes are always a-holes. Last time I checked, Im down about 125 and would love to see what your scale reads.

And that is why you will never succeed. All about "what have you done for me lately" instead of working at relationships that will benefit you in the long run. Also, I just talked to Tracy the other night. He's doing great and Panini is expecting a huge increase in sales.

This was sent to me by one of my "contacts".....

As far as I could tell. I believe one of the quotes from one of the players was: "They let those guys in here?" (meaning, of course, autograph hounds).

Also, let's not forget the time he sent emails to all the card companies requesting access to the Rookie Photo Shoot and, in exchange, he offered to give the card companies complete editorial control over anything he wrote on the event, said he would not publish anything they didn't want him to and even offered not to write anything negative.

In other words, he offered to be, dare we say, Sportscards Sometimes Censored. The guy won't take free product but he'll offer up his "editorial integrity" for a chance at the Rookie Photo Shoot.

Go figure.

And, yeah I am a big boy, still bigger, stronger and faster than you without the diabetes and overall self-loathing. I would have more respect for you if you actually lost your weight without cheating with a lap band. Don't worry, you'll lose the weight and then pack it right back on. You know im not trying to argue one way or another..this seems really personal between the two of you

but i have a question for you deltapi...

Why exactly is it that you hate Panini so much?

the reason i asked this is because after looking over your site just to check it out, all i see is Panini bashing here Panini bashing there...you cant seem to find 1 good thing to say period..wlel except for the 2010 Contenders, you found exactly 1 good thing to say

anyways i point this out because you seem to be overtly bias towards Topps and UD..case and point

some articles from your site:

on 09/16 you posted "my look at buying 2010 Football products"

My Look At Buying 2010 Football Products (http://www.sportscardsuncensored.com/?p=2611)

and i quote: 9/23 – Topps Finest Football

Finest has really gone down hill since the format change to the three mini boxes back in 2005 or 2006. This year’s set looks almost identical to the Topps Platinum set that goes live tomorrow, and really, the boxes are interchangable. One patch auto per box, a few other autos, blah blah blah. I think if you are into the way Topps designs their cards, this one wont be a stretch for you, but you wont see me buying into it. The cards havent really held their value in past years, and I don’t expect that to change. You still have refractors, you still have typical topps parallels, but the way that Topps has put borders on every element of the card takes away from the visual appeal. Platinum looks to be a much better situation because it’s a newer product that collectors have bought out of lack of similar releases.

Verdict: Platinum looks to be much better of a set with more collectability

then, less than a week later on 09/21 you posted "2010 Topps Finest is Live"

2010 Topps Finest Is Live (http://www.sportscardsuncensored.com/?p=2693)

and again i quote: Borders on the stickers and swatch windows look about as appealing as Panini’s oddly placed jerseys in their products, and its disturbing that Topps continues to make the same mistake over and over again.Luckily for Topps, the base cards and the jumbo patch autos do look greater than I expected, and the commons may even rival the ones from Chrome because of the cooler photography and similarly awesome design. I still get the feel that these base RCs are more like eTopps cards than anything, and that kind of detracts from the overall appeal.

so after these two posts...wait whats this??

this was your opening line:

wha wha wha what???? are you serious? you just spent 2 posts not full on bashing but saying you wont buy into it and how disgutsing it is they make the same mistakes over and over again and telling people stick with Topps Platinum....only to decide to buy a box for a break because it looked like a fun break??

which is it here man im confused...

Topps Finest’s design and content have made it into one of the best products released this year so far. That’s not really even that debatable"

solet me get this straight...you went from ehh im not buying into it, stick with Topps Platinum, how disgusting it is they make the same mistakes over and over again....to busting a box because it looked fun and now how amazing a product it is this year?

All within less than amonth of each other??

Do you ever stop to think why people on here dont respect your blog or your opinion much?

Again i dont know you and am not trying to make thispersonal but damn this kind of blogging/journalism whatever you wanna call it is pretty horrific...it makes you lose all credibility at least in my eyes to completely do a 180 in less than a month...maybe thats just me

Then to further the matters your praise UD for some unknown reason

in the same article talking about your thoughts on 2010 products you have the following to say:

UD SPX Football-a must have for college collectors
UD SP Authentic- "form what ive heard the cards are epic in design and should be amazing"

really? the same desing that has a college uniformed player and a thumb sized jersey/auto for the RAP? the same design with the Manu'd patches theyve used how many times before in UD Premier products? College Pride inserts/autos with nothing but a drawn jersey of said player and an auto?

i noticed how you said nothing of the failed UD Sweet Spot..

Not to mention the copious amounts of cholesteral you have flowing through your arteries. The diabetes will take your legs, your arms and your sight....You'll be dead by 45 and I'll laugh.

Honestly, 'backer I'm one on here who is actually fond of your rants and outspoken nature but when you're wrong, you're wrong. As someone who's worked in healthcare for 6 years and seen more than my share of people die and waste away due to morbid obesity and it's accompanying constellation of comorbidities, I can honestly tell you that there is no such thing as "cheating", when it comes to ridding one's life of that condition. I'm in pretty piss poor shape myself with a lot of bad habits I developed in my undergrad years and have yet to change.

Also, early stage DMII can be reversed with weight loss; moreover, I've never even read anything about Gellman mentioning that he has it. Maybe he does, but unless he was morbidly obese to the point of being bedridden--which he wasn't--it's unlikely at such a young age. Furthermore, non-compliant diabetics are the ones who lose their sight, arms, and legs before 45. LDL Cholesterol and triglycerides fluctuate with diet and when your stomach has 33 percent of the volume it once did it will almost certainly drop, unless you're eating nothing but double bacon cheeseburgers coated in alfredo sauce in small portions throughout the day.

Also you aren't even taking into account the most important thing I've ever heard a doc tell me: genetics loads the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger. Ever wonder why you see really old fat guys with big guts carting around on their power chairs wearing their oxygen? They're in their 60s, 70s, or even 80s but by your assertion should be dead already. Why are they still alive? They have certain genetic traits that slow the destructive effects of the poor diet, smoking, etc. They may well end up in the same place as the ones who die young, but in many cases they are able to live full and productive lives before reaching that point. Ask your wife if she ever had a girlfriend who ate whatever the hell she wanted, rarely worked out, and still looked hot as hell. Chances are she did and she'll be so jealous of her that she'll tear your head off for even mentioning it.

Longevity is determined by lifestyle, genetics, and socioeconomic factors that determine access to things like preventative care and screening procedures. BTW 'backer, had a sleep study lately? Ever wake up with a splitting headache and don't know why? Does the wife ever complain that you snore? Any history of heart arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death, or autoimmune diseases like sarcoidosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or lupus in your family? Remember Reggie White? He was pretty big, fast and strong too. Sleep well...

Actually, I like the die cut patch autos from Crown Royale too, so 2 things from Panini!

Listen, I see what you mean about Topps finest and my assessment of it, dont get me wrong. I should have chosen my words much more effectively in both posts, and explained my stances more clearly. When I say "buying in," im talking about collecting all the cards from my players I collect and busting a bunch of boxes. I can see why you would think that my buying a box of the product would contradict that, but to tell you the truth, my sense of buying in doesnt really include a boredom bust of a cheap box of the stuff. I was at the shop one day and to my surprise, it WAS a fun bust, despite the problems I explained. However, I still have not bought one card from finest for my collection, mainly because I dislike the main box hits out of the product.

Like I said, you are correct, I really should have explained things more clearly, but in reality, putting my opinions into words has never been a strong suit for me. Its tough to convey the full concept of what I am thinking about in any one post, and I think that with blogging in general, its a main issue for everyone. Do I contradict myself here and there? Definitely, I will never claim to be perfect or close to it. Yet, my opinions on anything I post about on the site are just reflections of what I believe to be true. If you dont agree, I respect that, its only when people start wishing harm on me and my family that I get defensive. That is why I usually dont respond, as I know it is against "teh laws of teh interwebz" to have any sort of decisive opinion against the status quo.

When you ask if I wonder why people dont respect me or my opinion on here, the answer is that I dont. I dont really care if there are a million people like Ryan out there. Ryan isnt the reason I write the way I do. I write for fun, because it is a great release, not because I want to make friends. I have enough friends outside of the site that I can actually see on a regular basis. If people read what I write and agree, its an added benefit, but if they dont, it doesnt detract from the fun I have. Blowout has always been an elitist sort of forum, a place where being vocal against the established members really doesnt sit well with many people, so its easy to see why people are not happy with my opinions. Unlike some of the vocal members on this forum, I rarely take it to the personal level they do until provoked. Even then, I have learned not to feed the trolls unless I want to unleash Ryan's extremely offensive and disgusting tirades. Only someone with little to offer would resort to saying the things that Ryan does. Its rare that someone would stoop to making fun of Diabetes the way he has done on multiple occasions. I believe he once told someone "your mother should have aborted you." Yeah, I dont really care about the way someone feels when you say stuff like that. I mean, the guy just said he would laugh when I die. Really? I dislike Panini, so you want me to die? Its gotten to that point? Cmon. The funny thing is, thats not even the worst he has said. Despite all of this, he still wants me to fly across the country to "throw down" or whatever he wants to do? Sounds like the stuff that should be reserved for the Pokemon game forums on IGN.

Lastly, feel the way you want to feel about my opinions, but they are just that - opinions. If you want to write out the way you feel to counteract the way I feel, that is all part of the game, and I am not going to lose respect for you because we disagree. If you love Panini's products, more power to you, I respect that. I just do not respect people who take it to a personal level for no reason. People who actively seek out opportunities to destroy me or my site. I dont see what that accomplishes in the long run.

Thats it for now.

Like you've been trying to do to Panini and Beckett for years. Jesus Christ man, take a side and stick with it. My biggest problem with you is this "crusader" attitude when you flip back and forth in support of whichever flavor of the month decides to work with you. Crusaders pretty much have a cause and stick with it.

You waved the Upper Deck flag for so long, held onto whatever glimmer of hope you had that they were going to turn it around. When the demise became oh so clear, you jumped to Topps. You have no loyalties whatsoever. If Upper Deck was so great, you would've been touting the college aspect but no, you jumped over to Topps while still trying to destroy Panini.

You bash Panini for what you call "floating swatches" but that's the only bullet you have. They're not underhanded, they don't try and screw over the collector, the didn't counterfeit Yu-Gi-Oh cards, etc.

I think if you would read "Card Sharks" you would have a true understanding of the evil empire that you love so much.

The saddest part is that you (and your site) could've been a really good thing for the hobby but you took the other route, burned every bridge imaginable and now don't understand why nobody takes your site seriously.

The bottom line is that you will never show your face at any hobby convention because you know that the manufacturers (Upper Deck included) would destroy anything you would have to say.

As far as the personal stuff, good for you for not "stooping to that level". I don't have that problem. I'll cut off an old lady for a parking spot at Christmas if I have to. Everything's fair game in my book. If I had any material for you to use against me, I would fully expect you to use it. Unfortunately, you don't have anything. Also, I seem to remember A LOT of personal attacks against Tracy Hackler and Chris Olds on your site but I guess that's OK, because it's your site.

Get some convictions and stick to them.

This was really a boring read.

Both of you with hobby contacts arguing to one another have disgraced the hobby with your posts in this topic, and neither of you are good representatives. You are both responding like children. Ripping someone for having diabetes? Really? Get off the forums, or keep your garbage out of them.

To stay on topic, Certified has always been solid. It was my favorite product back in '03, and was the first time I went nuts buying boxes (nuts for a high schooler being four or five boxes). There have been some weaker years since, but the product rebounded last year and looks to continue its success.

Considering that we both generally want the same things, in getting better quality out of the cards we collect, its not a ridiculous thought. At the very least, hopefully threads like this can be prevented in the future. I will be the first to admit that my actions have derailed things on more than a few occasions, and though my opinions wont change without manufacturer improvement, it wont be getting to this point again.
