Wow. Ed Orgeron interim head coach. Kinda surprising they did it in the middle of the season.

EDIT: Cam Cameron has been relieved of his OC duties, as well. LSU cleaning house.

They wanted this done last year, now they had their excuse to get him out of there.

Clearly if the team would have snapped the ball half a second earlier yesterday, he'd be a better coach!

BTW, I don't agree or disagree with the firing, I have no dog in that fight. Just think it's funny how one play can have an impact like this.

Surprised it happened during the season.

But, not surprised he got fired. Seemed to be on the perpetual hot seat.

If LSU were smart, they'd keep Orgeron as head coach. Unless they can get the Houston HC.

Good! LSU -2.5 cost me a parlay.

Now somebody needs to fire Florida coach

114-34 gets you fired at LSU. Pathetic.

I agree. Orgeron is a solid coach and should stay on unless someone extremely intriguing comes along.

That's what I was thinking, as well. So if they had snapped the ball earlier, would he still be the HC as of this moment? That one play was the end of his LSU tenure. Amazing.

Cam Cameron is out as OC, as well. Most teams would kill for the 114-34 record and a national title Miles had at LSU. Definitely cutthroat in the SEC.

What's also interesting is Malzahn is/was also on the hot seat, as well. If LSU had gotten the play off and won, would Malzahn be the one getting canned?

He should go to Florida international with ND's defensive coordinator

SEC feeling heat from B1G.

Until the B1G starts to consistently beat SEC teams, there is no heat. The SEC is head and shoulders better than B1G. Respectfully submitted, an MSU Spartan fan.

The ONLY reason that he kept his job at the end of last year was to keep that recruiting class together. LSU cleaned house the first moment they could and still have plenty of time to work on next years class.

Knew he would be fired soon but I figured it would be on Nov. 5th

More savagery, I have to admit it though, I actually liked Les.

No more Ol' Ball Coach or the Mad Hatter makes SEC Media days boring as hell.

They had to do something after Saturday.

Clock management has always been something that Les Miles doesn't understand, but Saturday was just another level. Players not hurrying up to get to the line, the receiver not getting out of bounds, and during a long stoppage in play LSU didn't get a play called and line up. There was just a complete lack of understanding of what a 2 minute drill is, and not long after that, Stanford executed one perfectly with no timeouts and less time.

Agreed, he had to be the luckiest person in history. He had many great teams that bailed him out of his mistakes over the years. Even though he beat us (Florida) more times than I would like to mention on the last drive of the game, I'm kinda going to miss seeing him on the sideline in a couple of weeks.
