View Full Version : Is it even worth fighting ebay feedback anymore?

I feel like buyer's are getting more and more demanding and I'm receiving more and more frivolous negative feedback. Each time, I "report a buyer" in an effort to get the feedback removed and I have never heard a peep from anyone at ebay about the dispute and never had my negative retracted.

Does ebay ever get rid of the negative if I can prove it was given maliciously or am I wasting my time? In this case, I refunded the buyer's full purchase price 2 days after he paid because he specified he wanted a gem mint card AFTER the purchase and, anticipating a chargeback request once he didn't deem the card a gem, I preemptively gave him his money back. I avoid buyer's who clearly have unrealistic expectations about condition because I've been burned too many times over the years by getting an ebay claim ruled against me when a buyer fought me on condition so I wanted to avoid this issue. Anyway, his feedback says "Seller kept my money for 2 weeks, then said he didn't have card. Then relisted." I have irrefutable evidence that the 2 weeks thing isn't true and yes, I relisted and satisfied the second buyer, which was for the exact same amount of money (this was BIN, NOT auction).

So again - am I screwed or can I try and fight it, and if so, is the "report a buyer" the way to do it?

I got a negative feedback for NOT lying on customs, explained ahead of time it was illegal. Still negative, eBay did nothing!

How much do you consider your time worth?

Don't think it's much worth it. It's not nearly as important as it used to be. Look at sites like Amazon; people hardly even use it or check it when buying.

I have stopped bothering. When you have 4600+ positive and 1 negative and 3 neutrals I think it is pretty clear who the problem is. I've focused my efforts on my good buyers and blocking those who are a pain in the neck over a $3 card.

you have to actually call them, using report buyer does nothing. I have gotten several removed. Got one about 2 weeks ago removed because the buyer said shipping was slow it arrived 2 days before the estimated delivery date. Had another removed because the buyer was not happy with the GPS fees. The key is call them and point out the policies that deal with your situation.

Truth is if you sell on Ebay long enough you will get negged. Average is around 1 neg every 500 transactions. Some sellers get lucky and go further, but sooner or later you may run into a situation where you can be proud of the neg. I have several I proudly took over the years.

2510 and no negs :) People need to stop being lazy. In life if you really want something you have to work for it. It's not given to you like many people want to believe. Not just you OP, too many threads that could be solved with a little work. Pick up the phone! Talk to an actual person. If that doesn't work then go above them. And continue until the problem is fixed. If there is ever an issue for me I work to get it resolved and don't stop until it is. Too many irrational people out there, all you need is to talk to a rational person and they'll fix it.
