Think it'll be close in the first half. Tech pulls away a little in the second half but UVA still covers the spread in the end I think.

Nice half for the Gophers leading 17-7, but the 2nd half is the one that really matters. I've seen us hold a 17-10 lead at halftime against Nebraska and lose that one so I'm just hoping for a strong outing in the second half.

The only team that has looked really good so far has been Washington.
Alabama is looking decidedly average so far.
Ohio State looked horrible and only was able to stay in the game because Michigan's QB was even worse (a fumble inside the Ohio St. 5-yard line and two INT's inside his own territory).
Would really like to see Washington hop up to the #3 spot so that we can have Pac-12/Big Ten and SEC/ACC semifinals.

Mitch Leidner, a 5th year senior, has made two absolutely inexcusable interception throws. He never shows up in big games. Thankfully, I only have 1 game and 1 quarter left to watch in his Minnesota career.

Washington didn't look so good being dominated by a 3 loss USC at home. You pounded a crappy WSU team, so what? So did Colorado. WSU could not even beat Eastern Washington.
All 3 of those teams are better than Washington and Bama is going to pound them if they can beat Colorado.

C'mon, its Mitch Leidner. Its not like he is a world beater. He threw it right to all of the defenders on all three picks. He is the worst QB in the Big Ten that makes high school mistakes as a 5th year senior. I've been his biggest critic and have been counting down the games left in his career since he was a sophomore and I can proudly say he only has one game left in his Golden Gopher career and then it is the Seth Green era!

It's not impressive for the 4 today when it's Mitch Leidner throwing and it lands in your hands without really having to try. A blind person could've caught those interceptions.

So looks like there is going to be 4-6 slots open that the NCAA will need to fill with 5-7 football teams to fill all bowl games. Does the NCAA only consider the power 5 teams or would they take a team from a lesser conference? I see there is like 7 5-7 teams that are in the Power 5 that are 5-7 but some of those might decline a bowl game like Texas.

5-7 teams can be selected in order of their APR (academic) rating.

Teams are very different in September than they are in December. Just look at USC, which is one of the hottest teams in the country right now, but started out 1-3.
All I will say regarding Washington is that very few teams, in any conference, win a rivalry game on the road against a ranked opponent by four touchdowns. It was a very impressive win any way you look at it.
And Ohio St. looked horrible today against Michigan prior to overtime. Couldn't move the ball, missed two field goals, botched a fake punt, and only got their two regulation TD's thanks to horrible INT's by the Michigan QB.
Alabama and Clemson both looked very good, but I'd take Washington over whichever Big Ten team ends up in the playoff.
