5-6 is considered good? I guess this thinking is why there is 36 million bowl games in college. If it was sarcasm, then carry on.
Nm, I stand corrected. They are 6-5.

Everyone Cowboys fan on this site will have my head if they lose. I promise them I would not create a Cowboys thread and here I go and break that promise.

Mike Priefer... Special Teams coach
The individual that ex Vikings Punter Chris Kluwe said wants to put all the homosexuals on an island and nuke it. Somehow he kept his job. Joke of a face for the team to stand behind tonight.
Minnesota stands a chance just because road teams don't play well on Thursdays. Cowboys have had a full week rest so that shouldn't even matter.
It will be close if Minnesota doesn't get down 10+ in the first half. I will say 20-17 one way or another.

I don't think the Cowboys even need elliot to win this game. Dak has looking beyond his years. I say cowboys by 10. Minnesota has looked awful the last 5 or so games.

In all honesty I think the cowboys will win but the score will be closer than most people think. I think it's gonna be a low scoring game and kind of ugly. I could see a similar game to the lions game on thanksgiving. Very few touchdowns scored and will be ultimately decided in the fourth quarter. Any chance the Vikings had of an upset I think went away with coach Zimmer not being able to be there tonight but I hope I'm wrong :-)

The C patt was indeed PI and yes tons of other players get away with (a certain number 88 in this game does, as do most star players) it should be called on consistantly. Please tell me how the Lions offense outplayed the Vikings defense in both games? One play at the end of the 4th quarter in the first game and the drive to tie the game in the last game. Those are where the defense failed us, but they are still a very good defense.

It wouldn't be so atrocious if they weren't throwing out a HS O-line. Bradford is liable to get killed if they try to hold it for longer patterns, but is a risk they have to take as it has not helped them win games the last 7 weeks :(

Lol I hear what you're saying and it wasn't like you guys destroyed us lol if anything we "lost" those games lol you didn't "win" them (well Stafford was clutch the first one and Bradford is awful). Our D is really good but the O is terrible and dare I say the worst in the league. Look at the cowboys as an example. They have a very average D but the O keeps them off the field and usually puts the other team in terrible field positions. The O makes the D look way better in Dallas. We are the opposite unfortunately. Our offense puts us in terrible positions and doesn't stay on the field and gives the D no time to rest. If we had an offense like Dallas I think people would be easily talking about this D as the best in the league!!

This Vikings offense makes football hard to watch. The O-line is absolute garbage. And why do the announcers keep on stating they are good run blockers. The Vikings are among the worst rushing team in the history of the NFL this year. This O-line does nothing good. Hell, they don't even do anything average. None of them should even be in the NFL.

Its not being salty when its the reality. We have beat ourselves more than teams have beat us. Tonight, I didn't come in expecting the Vikings to beat the Cowboys, but it is frustrating when we completely outplayed them and still lose because of a single deep ball and then a fumble on a play when Thielen should've fair caught it. We also beat ourselves by not capitalizing on turnovers, especially at the 20 yard line and dropping passes, especially Rudolph in the end zone.

He's not a good tackle at all. He is a guard, not a tackle. I'd put Boone or Sirles at LT and have Clemmings move into a guard slot. On a good day for Clemmings, he is still 10x worse than Kalil

The Lions I think lose to the Saints, Cowboys, and either Packers/Giants. They don't have an easy road ahead in their final 5 games. They could go 3-2, 2-3, or even 1-4 in the final 5 games. Sadly, right now, the Vikings will have to go 4-0 to close out the season to have a shot at the division. They MIGHT be able to get a wild card with a 3-1 record to close it out but I don't see 9-7 snagging a wild card spot.

They sure did! I think GB will get them back in a few weeks. Neither team going to go far this year with how they both are playing. So it could end up being a meaningless game. But I like how GB is setup better for next year. Just never been a believer in Bradford whether it be on Rams, Philly, or Minny - so I thought it was a drastic overpay for a guy who should never be traded for a 1st rounder. Shaun Hill would have had this team in equal or better position. Still can't believe the Lions might win the division - but they are due for a division title I guess.

Well, if both teams win their next 2 games (3 for the Packers), that game will end up meaning a lot I think. Either way, whether both teams are 0-15 and 15-0, the Packers/Vikings game always means something.
I said when they traded for Bradford that a 1st was too much but what were they supposed to do? Hill wasn't going to last all season and isn't as good as Bradford. I would've rather seen a 2nd traded for Bradford, but we were in a desperate time for a QB and teams knew it so they had to overpay
Seahawks and Dallas both hefty with the ref gifting this holiday season. Word.
Less of a gift and more of a flat miss, Corrente had a terrible angle for that call and the other judge (to Bradford's left and back about 12 yards and who is looking for the Lineman holding, not the QB, which is the Umpire's job) couldn't tell or wouldn't be looking for that either.
The shine came off Dak quite a bit tonight, he looked pretty ordinary in many regards IMO. His mobility was crucial, but man, he had to handle that snap on 3rd & short, that whole TD drive may have been a moot point all due to not fielding a snap under center correctly.
My Boys were fortunate to win tonight, there is little to crow about except the Defense being adequate once again. Holding a team to a FG after the offense ceded possession at the 19 is impressive.

Sarcasm my friend :) Was pretty much exactly what happened on the Julio play when the ref had a bad angle on the arm bar. It happens...it's the NFL and it's tough to get calls at crucial times, let alone a final game deciding play.
Minnesota was quite fortunate to even be in that position, had it not been for Dak sliding unnecessarily early to force that 3rd down and short and subsequent fumble.

As a Cowboys fan, I can tell you exactly how to go about hate'n on the team from Dallas. (Not calling you a hater, I like seeing your posts)
- Hate the team because Jerry Jones has finally reached the age where those around him can actually talk him out of drafting Johnny Manziel and into drafting Zack Martin.
- Hate the team because Jones, for all of his foolishness and business>football decisions, is getting to ride the coattails of Stephen Jones' personnel decisions.
- Hate the team because Jason Garrett - former Jones' puppet - has morphed into an actually gritty coach who can adapt to his "backup" QB after the disaster that was last season.
- Hate the team because circumstances have forced it to mold itself into the kind of solidly-built roster that can withstand injury and poor performances with its historically-deep O-line and talented skill players. Hate it for being so solidly-built that it can win 11 out 12 games with the lesser of its two quarterbacks.
- Hate the team because, for all of Dak's hype, he's never had to dig the team out of a multiple-score hole. Something we all know Romo is capable of if there is time on the clock. Seriously, as a Cowboys fan, I'm thrilled that Dak has played the kind of football that has largely prevented the Boys from falling into 14 or 17 pt deficits......but no team wins the Super Bowl without at least one improbable comeback. I still haven't seen enough to feel confident in keeping Romo on the bench when such a situation inevitably arises. My biggest fear is that they don't face such a deficit until a playoff matchup against a team like Atlanta and by then it's too late to sort out who your Captain Comeback is going to be.
So yeah, as a Cowboys fan there are plenty of reasons I can give as to why other fans should hate this team - but NFL officiating conspiracies is not one of them.

- The Frenzy
I actually don't hate the Cowboys (anymore). I enjoy watching Dak play, I've liked Zeke since college, and watching the offensive line bully defenses around is entertaining. I just think there was some calls that should've been called against Dallas but werent, but even so, the Vikings shot themselves in the foot. They couldn't capitalize on turnovers, they had some key drops, and the most painful one, Thielen fumbles in a bad spot. Honestly, if Thielen doesn't fumble, Minnesota likely wins with just kicking FGs and the final probably would've been 12-7 or 12-10 in favor of Minnesota. But when it comes down to it, the Vikings have to get into the end zone and not rely on their kicker and defense as much as they have since the bye week.
If that were the case, holding would probably be called at a 75% clip and stadiums would have to provide sleeping bags and vivarin for the snooze fests.

So whos tops in the NFC right now? Dal looked vulnerable tonight.
Still Dallas. The reason I say this is because they don't have to play defenses like Seattle and Minnesota every game. If the end up seeing Seattle or Minnesota (if we somehow squeak into the postseason) in the playoffs, they could get knocked off, but besides those two, the rest of the NFC defenses are average and they perform really well against average defenses, as we've seen.

This is inexcusable to miss, especially late in the game. This is why I, and many others, have called for full time officials instead of part timers. This is one of many horrendous calls "missed" this season. The NFL needs to do something about it instead of just sending letters of apology.

Atlanta is the only team that scares me as they can score a lot in little time, but they cannot stop good offenses. The Eagles choked them off by holding onto the ball and putting pressure on Ryan.
Seattle's Defense is still good, but it isn't the defense it was 3 years ago (injuries have definitely contributed to that lately), they aren't getting the consistent turnovers they did or the pressure like they did. Their offense is not very consistent and without a running game, Wilson is forced to carry the load in a way that is not conducive to the team's long term success IMO.
Detroit is a giant question mark of a team, they have had to pull off comebacks in every win and have been down going into the 4th all 11 games. That is both troubling and comforting as a fan of another squad.
The Giants have 8 wins by a combined 40 points, with 1 point victories over the Bengals and Cowboys, a FG victory over the Saints and a 4 point victory over the Ravens. They are winning, but it is never pretty. Their Defense is good, but with all the talent the Offense has, they are a liability at times.
The Redskins are a confounding team, they are No.2 in the NFL with regards to offense between the 20's, but near the bottom of the league in Red Zone efficiency. Their Defense is adequate, but they can be scored upon.
The Vikings are about 5/8th's of a team. Their Defense is good-to-great at all levels, their Special Teams is a question mark and the Offense is limited when healthy and almost toothless without a real Running Game.

The sheer consistency of the Cowboys have to put them at the top. If the NFL playoffs were a best of 5 or best of 7 series, there wouldn't even be a point in betting against the Cowboys......
.....but the playoffs aren't like that. I'd still keep an eye on Atlanta and New York. As far as NFC SB champions, I'd put it at:
Cowboys - 50%
NY Giants - 25%
Atlanta Falcons - 10%
Seattle Seahawks - 10%
Everyone else - 5%
I could very easily see a third Giants > Patriots SB happening.

Yeah, that's the shortcoming of social media and forums. I know where you're coming from. Were this a single-elimination playoff game, I'd give great odds to Minnesota or Detroit or Atlanta or the Giants or the Seahawks. It's a double-edged sword down here in Big D - go with the QB who's unlikely to get you into a multi-score deficit but hasn't yet demonstrated that he can lead the kind of downfield comeback that is needed in such situations versus the QB who might be more likely to get you into such situations, but has repeatedly demonstrated that he can overcome any deficit as long as their is time on the clock.

I'm sure the league will issue a standard whoops we missed one on the 2 pt conversion. I'm still pleasantly surprised how the Vikings stayed with the Cowboys.

I'm with you here. We've come to a point in the season where just being competitive is an issue, and we hung with the "best" team in the league the whole way through. Aside from a few big time blunders, we had them.
After the past few weeks, as a die-hard fan of the team, I know that it just isn't going to happen this year. If you step back and take a look at the ridiculousness of what has happened this season, the fact that we have ANY wins is a miracle! Starting QB down a week before the season starts, starting RB done in Week 2, the supposedly rebuilt O-Line decimated to the point of signing new fill-ins every other week (we have started 11 so far...), Turner resigns after two losses out of nowhere, hell, even Zimmer's freakish retina-detachment stuff...adversity is one thing, but this is utterly insane, ha!
I say work on what we can the rest of the way through, and let's start working towards next year. The pieces will still be in place, but we can't go deep in the playoffs with the duct-taped together team we have this season, just isn't going to happen. Plus, MN gets the Super Bowl at home next year anyways, that's the one we want to be in, ha! SKOL!!!

Funny how the NFL comes out and says starting next year they will have full time officials with one official just watching QB hits..and then end the game with controversial "QB hit"

Whether Bradford would've been sacked or not, it still has to be called because you never know. Last year Aaron Rodgers got a face mask call from a single finger going inside the mask, Bradford gets raked across the face and it's a no call? They saw it happen, they just didn't want to get yelled at by any of the Cowboys.

That's because he's a Packer... The league loves when they win. I'm surprised the
'Fail Mary" refs haven't been "taken care of" by Goodell's buddies.
I think last weeks Monday night game added credence to that theory.

The guy behind that had the angle was looking at the ball headed toward the back of the end zone. He should be looking at the qb at all times. Ben never gets that call either so probably why I am numb to the whole thing. One year his nose got broken badly. Blood flowing and looking all sideways and ref looks all mad for even being questioned on it
Man I hope the Steelers get another shot at the boys

This is why I am saying the NFL needs full time officials. It can't hurt.
You can tell when officials favor a team over another in a game too. Just one play, Patterson gets called for a touchy offensive PI early in the game. Later in the game Terrance Williams full out extends both arms and pushes the Vikings CB and nothing is called. Treadwell, in the red zone, was also trying to run a comeback route but was held on the break so he couldn't make it, but it wasn't called. And lastly, on Dak's scamble that ended up being short of the 1st, behind the play, Robison was chasing and the offensive lineman grabbed him by the shoulders FROM BEHIND and threw him to the ground. Officials cannot miss such blatant calls as these. The part timers lack consistency. It hasn't just been this game either and it hasn't just been Vikings games. Its been EVERY game this year that I have watched and I watch A LOT of football.

To play devil's advocate, you could easily argue that the Vikings got the better treatment as far as calls go in that the Cowboys 2 biggest plays of the first half (Damien Wilson interception in Vikings territory, Zeke 40+ yard run down into basically the red zone) were nullified by iffy, borderline calls that went the Vikings way.
Had those not been called, you could really make the case that the Cowboys have a 10-14 point lead going into halftime if they at least get field goals out of those situations.

Which is why carping about referee calls is the weakest form of justification of poor play. I am going to go back and see how many plays Zeke has had called back thanks to holding due to backside penalties. Maybe then the NFL will credit him with those rushing yards and he can break Dickerson's record faster. ;)

Exactly - There were at least 4-5 drives and big plays (as I referenced above) that were either stymied before they got started or completely nullified by borderline calls going against the Cowboys. I don't see any Cowboys fans complaining that the refs took points off the board for them and how they should have easily handled the Vikings last night if it just weren't for petty calls that were actually called against them.

How about the field flipping 60+ yard run against the Eagles? That game may have not been nearly as close with that backside flag picked up. The list is endless.

Why would the team on the winning end of a game EVER complain about calls ??!??! If there are fans of ANY team out there complaining about bad/missed calls after a win...well, that is just an entirely different problem altogether, ha! Come on, we all know that no matter which team we root for, we NEVER get the calls that we want.
Aside from that, the real problem here is the fact that the last call wasn't made after the Bradford head hit, and had it not been for the VERY similar Rodgers re-do last season, no one would have said anything about it. The fact is though, and it is hard to argue, the Rodgers one shouldn't have been called...yet was. And the Bradford one, which was much more obvious and blatant, was not. I don't know if having a way to review those types of plays in the last 2 minutes would be the way to go, but it needs to be fair all around.
No, it was much more than that one play that gave the Vikings a loss, but it's hard not to think that the NFL is protecting certain QBs and not others...or maybe we all can't whine as well as some of them to get those calls.
