Just curious on everybodys thoughts on this? I like the nfl, but college football, along with the nba are my favorite sports. As far as cards go, i dont buy nfl cards really, because they just really arent appealing to me, i like buying college cards for a few reasons

Price: college cards for the most part, are just much more wallet friendly

Reason: college football is just better to watch in my own opinion

Value: i dont look at college football cards and think about sale value, i think about trading for better college cards, and also, tgink about all of the valuable memories i have watching these players

With all this said, I'm an avid hurricanes fanatic, and have built a great collection. The canes will always be my favorite team and my main pc (along with the boston celtics). That being said i want to start branching off to many many different teams and players! Is there anybody else that does this as well?

I don't mind college cards, but I absolutely loathe Press Pass and Sage HIT. Both are/were terrible products in my eyes. But I do like the Collegiate Prizm's though.

Some of my nicest player autographs are on college cards. I scooped up about 30 nice high profile/Hall of Fame player autos from my LCS a few years ago when they were liquidizing their inventory. Got them for a fraction of what they would go for in their pro uniform.

Unfortunately many collectors out there (for whatever reason) have tunnel-vision and can't possibly look past a player being featured in their college uniform.

To me, a Bo Jackson autograph is a Bo Jackson autograph as far as I'm concerned. Does not mean a hill of beans to me if he's wearing a college uniform.

Press Pass was great given their limitations. They almost always had on card autos and for a time they went out of their way to pursue legends as well as incoming rookies. It never carried much value, but there's a place for bargain products and I think they handled that well. They were good for the hobby as far as I'm concerned.

Sage...eh.

I'm in the middle. I quit collecting Colts cards and switched to only PCing guys that played at Indiana University. I collect them in their pro uniform too, but really do like the college products. Bad part is, not as much of it gets opened and some of what does gets held hostage (Black Gold, Immaculate, etc) with prices that just don't compute. I just opened a case of 2015 Prizm College Draft from BO's BF sale. It was a really fun rip and one of the better cases I've ever done as far as getting low numbered cards.

TWard, The quality on the 96 Press Pass as far as card stock is absolutely fantastic. Try finding Emerald Proofs or Reflector Shields from the early years of Press Pass and they are gobbled up. Those parallels can rank in the top 10 parallels of the 90's ! Sage had some great ideas of "Rainbowing" their auto's but the card stock wasn't very good. Quality of the cards were average at best into the Y2K era.
Rareairx23, I opened up and saved all kinds of college uniformed cards from the late 80's on up. If you locate Nebraska I could trade Cane cards for you. I have everything across the Board in Hurricane Uniform - base / parallels / Inserts / Auto's. I like to trade 90's for 90's etc.

If I'm a fan of a player I actually like having an auto of him in his pro and NCAA uniform. I'm a huge UK Wildcats fan and prefer the players in their NCAA uniform for basketball. I do in football as well but obviously don't get the chance to as often considering our football program is pretty bad. What would be really cool is if the NCAA jersey/patches were actually game used.

My PC is former Oklahoma State players. I do collect cards of them in their NFL uniforms, but I've always favored their college stuff, especially Exquisite, SPx, SP Authentic.

Depends on the player obviously, but there can be some really nice college cards to be had. I usually get more excited about cards in their college uniforms. Here are a few of mine :)!

it depends on what college player or team you collect as to if they are cheaper or not. sometimes they are more expensive. depends on supply and demand

A large portion of my collection is college.

I'm working on a complete master set of the 2014 Conference Greats Gator cards and I'm just about finished. I've been on it for around 2 years now!

I love college cards because I enjoy the college game more than NFL for the most part. I hated Sage but loved Press Pass. I busted those $20 blasters all the time.

I want to get some prizm when I have some extra money laying around. The inserts and parallels are awesome. Some gators would look nice in the pc

I'm not going to say I primarily collect college football but I do very much enjoy collect the draft pick sets each year. My favorite college themed cards of all time were the 1989 Pro Set series II draft pics.

I also enjoy collecting college cards. Prizm and Contenders Draft are really good looking products along with of course College NT and Immaculate. One of the first products I started collecting was the 05 Topps Draft Picks and Prospects.

I have a giant Jameis/FSU college PC, love that they offer more college cards now. They have been a bit cheaper, but I have a monster coming in that was more expensive than most of his cards. Cant wait to show it off :)

I'm a life long die hard UM fan(Hurricanes not wolverines lol) outside of a few special pc cards I have my entire collection is of cards in college uniform. I never really got into following a specific NFL team, I just follow UM players wherever they play so a card in their Pro uniform doesn't do a whole lot for me. Unfortunately Miami has a huge following so there is a lot of competition for their cards which makes them more expensive than some other schools for the nicer/rarer cards/players.
