HUGE game for both teams IMO, so wanted to get this thread going!


Game could determine the winner of the AFC West and even home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Going to be cold (high of 25 right now).

The Chiefs are the only team that scares me in the AFC. They have the Raiders number for some reason although the pouring rain in the firat game really hurt the Raiders as the passing game is thier strength

I do think if the line can keep Carr upright the Raiders will pull it out. Have khalil beasting right now doesnt hurt either. Most likely it will come down to how the Raiders defense plays.

This will be a great game! I have seen more Raiders football on regular TV channels then in the past 5 years this year.

As to teams having other teams numbers...a number of years back the Broncos dominated the Raiders who dominated the Chiefs who dominated the Broncos in the division. And by dominated I mean won both games in the season regularly.

I am looking forward to this game, but nervous about it as well. Both teams should be looking at this as a playoff game because of the huge implications.

I don't think the Raiders can afford to let the Chiefs get out to an early lead like the Bills did yesterday. It will likely be a high scoring game, and I hope the Raiders come out on the winning end of it.

If I remember correctly the last few seasons KC and Oak have split...but each has won at the other teams field.

I expect a low scoring game (Thurs night usually are) and IMO Mack or Houston very well could determine the outcome

As a Broncos fan it makes me cringe to say this, but I think we need to root for the Raiders, as I don't think the Broncos can catch them, and they at least have a chance to stay with the Chiefs (although, I don't think the Broncos make the playoffs this year). Hope it is a good game, and it is fun to see the Raiders relevant again.

Very intrigued by this game. So much riding on the line. This is definitely one of the better matchups (on paper) this year for TNF. I think the Raiders squeak it out in a close one with late-game heroics by Mack and Murray.

Last 2 years 9-4. The 4 losses were by a combined 16 points.

The Chiefs had an early road game (1 PM EST) and the Raiders had a late game at Home (1:15 PM Start PST).

It's a wash IMO. It would different if the Raiders had a Sunday night game on the road like Dallas did a couple years ago before Thanksgiving.

The Chiefs were coming out of a bye week when they faced the Raiders in week 6. They basically had 2 weeks to prepare their "gimmicks" for the Raiders.

Now it's the Raiders turn to travel to KC and they don't even get a full week to prepare for them.

But anyways...those who've seen the Raiders play understand the team isn't the same when missing starting RB Latavius "Tay Train" Murray. He missed the 1st meeting between these 2 bitter rivals...Won't be missing this one.

Chiefs have a problem defensively between the 20's. If they can find a way to shut down the Raiders on 3rd and whatever, they will win. If not, it is going to be a long game. Good news is that most the regulars are back and will play, so it might be a long night for Carr, especially if Houston,Ford and Hali can get pressure from the outside while Poe and Jones force pressure up the middle. As for the offense of the Chiefs, it is good to hear Maclin is back for this game, just not sure how his Groin/Hammy or whatever it is that keeps him out all the time will hold up. But if Maclin can play all the game it will open up the running game, forcing the Raiders safeties to stay back in coverage with Hill on the other side and forcing the linebackers to concentrate more on Kelce. It will be a close game or it could be a blowout. 30-28 Chiefs

And they are 6-1 in the last 7 games against the Raiders. The Chiefs are the biggest hurrdle for this Raiders team. A win tonight would be not only huge in the standings but a huge mental win as well. The Raiders have all the weapons to win this but it will be a tough game for sure.

In the same vein, the Chiefs have only 2 victories against Denver in the last several tries. Whatever it is, these teams match up with each other and manage to clamp down on one another. It should be a heck of a game.

This is probably about right. However the Raiders have dropped almost every pass which is probably due to the cold hard balls. They are not used to handling those types of balls[emoji57]

Hill is definitely the most explosive rookie I have seen in a while. It's nice to see a guy who is blazing fast that can also play more like a football player instead of a track star with pads on.

Their Defense is scary thanks to so much depth. Losing Derrick Johnson does hurt a lot in the long run though.

What a game plan chiefs. Jump out to a 21-3 lead and then just hang out for almost 3 quarters and do nothing hopefully holding onto a one score lead.

Two crappy turnovers in two minutes into the third quarter. Both inside the 30. The Chiefs are lucky to have the lead they do. They aren't hanging on to anything game plan wise, they have been lucky.

Chiefs have beaten San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, Atlanta and Oakland twice. Other than being blown out by Pitt they've had a damn good year.

The Pittsburgh Game was easily the worst they've played, followed up closely by the Bucs game at home. Sloppy all over the place in both.

The Texans loss seems like a total distant memory at this point. KC might crush those guys again this postseason (if they even survive the next 4 weeks).

To be fair they've won a ton of close games. The key for them to be successful throughout the playoffs is their DEF obviously and the implementation of Tyreek Hill. If Hill can be a reliable playmaker from here on out, I love the Chiefs chances of making the Superbowl. Losing Derrick Johnson really sucks though. Houston will need to be a beast every game like he is capable of. No more injuries!

That was a game good teams don't lose (if your the Raiders). 3-0 on the turnover battle, all deep in the opponent's territory and you come away with 6 points. I know our fans will say the cold/pinky/Osemele's illness are to blame - but the bottom line is a team that's ready to make a run deep in the playoffs won't have a 3-0 turnover margin and lose the game. They beat us in all 3 phases and they deserve to be at the top of the division.

Now we need to win out and hope Denver can beat them at home. If not, we could very well be making the same trip a month from now and if cold is the excuse it won't be any warmer a month from now.

Couldnt agree more. You cant make excuses in this league. Injuries aside they had plenty of chances to win that game and blew it. Kasas Citys defense played a hell of a game and deserved the win. Im hoping they get another shot at them come playoffs.

The cold DEFINITELY had an effect on the raiders - it was blatantly obvious.

The fans (as usual) were crazy, despite the temps.

Offense looked horrible the 2nd h, but I think Andy was playing not to lose the game.


Anyway......good game, great environment and the right team won!
