I have an assortment of loose packs I've been saving up to break, because breaking a bunch of wax is fun!

Today I had 3x Dragons of Tarkir, 4x Khans of Tarkir, and 1x Origins.

Busted 4 packs of Battle for Zendikar, mostly because I really like the full art lands that come in the packs and would love to get 10 of each for my Sealed Play Kit (10 of each land pre-sleeved with 30 extra sleeves for deck construction at pre-releases and drafts).

Have you tried the new 6(5 from standard and one from modern) box combo box at wal-mart? I opened one and got Archangel/Hellkyte(rtr) Mythics, not bad! You also get a d20 from a random standard set. $25

I had a giftcard burning a hole in my pocket on New Years Eve and saw three of them at Wally World. Unfortunately I thought the $25 price tag was a little high for my taste, though I may end up going back and grabbing one with the giftcard for kicks anyways.

Whelp, that box of Kaladesh sitting on my bar table was taunting me, saying "Neener neener neener, I have a Masterpiece in me!"

The plan had been to go and draft with it. If we do that, I'll have to put together a pod or something to draft from. Ripped 'em all, here's the highlights:

So no Masterpiece. I'm not tremendously disappointed, since I needed all 4 Mythics for my collection, so that's nice. Just down to the Noxious Gearhulk and Saheeli Rai. Alas.

I ordered 8 more Kaladesh Boosters to go with a booster of Aether Revolt when it release and we'll draft from that, I suppose.

I cracked one and hit a Archangel Avy and a mythic dragon from return to ranvinca that got my money back, but i was disappointed that they just use packs from recent time, the whole modern history sounds more like: the RTR block that we overprinted. Still happy with my purchase.

Trophy Mage is a bomb in limited, let me find the renegade paintrain, aether harvester and once I had one of those out it was basically game over. Also had dovin/flying 2/3 lifelink vigilant guy who basically won me a game on curve.

The free packs had Heart of Kiran and Baral! Very happy with the breaks!

Thanks! I forgot I also hit a Smuggler's Copter out of that Kaladesh Box, but with the recent price hit from the ban-hammer falling, it was kind of a bitter-sweet pull. I do have a full playset of them now, though, and I pulled all 4 so I'm not technically out any money.

Trophy Mage is pretty solid, that untethered crazy train is unbelievable. Better even than the renegade paintrain. Aether Revolt is going to be a really fun set to draft, I want to hit up a game store today to get the two duel decks so I can play with my wife (she hates building decks and I figured those two might be OK for balance, plus I have store credit at a place that would cover both decks I think).

Aether harvester was about the only semi-bomb card we had in our 2HG pool, but we were dead before it could ever come out and even still, a 3/5 flier is hardly a game-winner without some support, which we didn't have. I think I'm going to a draft of Aether Revolt on Monday, so we'll see how it goes. I'll post here what I draft and any prize packs I open, of course!

I opened my first box of aether that i got.for 60ish dollars thanks to ebay bucks and a hot flash deal. Hit a foil heart of kiran and a regularly copy, everything else was meh, but i guess walking Ballista is worth money as well.

2 fatal pushes though!

Not sure if I'll do another box as they can be pretty brutal rare wise, will be drafting though!

Ugh, draft went pretty poorly. I tried to force a Green/Black counter deck by first picking a Winding Constrictor. The deck was really hit or miss. Went 1-2. Green nor Black was open at all and I ignored the signals to go Blue because Blue was wiiiiide open.

The attackers that let you pay 2 energy to make a Servo are really strong. Also, Gifted Aetherborn is stupid strong. The set overall has a much lower power rating than Kaladesh, except for a few ridiculously powerful cards for their cost. Just nuts. Revolt is still harder to trigger than I think it should be unless you're really all in on it. Improvise can be really strong if you build for it -- Sweatworks Brawler and the Hangry Giant are pretty strong. Personally my new dream is to draft 5 Ornithopers, a Hangry Giant, and have those 6 plus a mountain in my starting hand to Turn 1 attack with the Hangry Giant. #Dreams.

I usually never take blue in draft because I end up with unpowerful creatures and counter spells that mean nothing because the opp can just pay it.lol

that's quite the dream! I to siege modification a dreadnought on curve.
