Learn to be picky fast with HQ. If you try to pick up everything, you'll go broke really quick.

I plan on taking a chunk of my income tax check and getting a few comics.I thought about putting all my eggs in in basket but after looking on ebay I decided to shop around and go for like 2/3 instead of just one.

In my experience, Jan/Feb are good times to buy. Prices are a little depressed so your dollars go a little further.

I don't have that one. There were so many HQ#1 Rebirth variants, I just pre-ordered a few. I may go back and pick up a few more now that 9.8s are flooding the market. That one will be tough though.

One thing you can consider moving forward, work with Indy (on this forum) to pre-order raw books for grading. If you chose wisely, you can save a good bit verses buying the slabs on ebay after the fact. You can also look into a service called CGCsubscrption.Com, but they won't do any store exclusive or incentive variants. They do incentives normally, but the demand for HQ is too high.

Very cool, she has some great covers out there..I agree with you on sticking to certain comics - when I got back into comics last year I was all about star wars but then started buying just about EVERYTHING..I've cut back and focused on SW, Batman, and Walking Dead now..looking forward to your collection posts!

I'd love a 9.8 too, but that ship has sailed.....

But 9.2-9.4 copies are reasonably affordable. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Right now I'm focus on lower end and mid tear Comics to build up a collection and my kitty money is for our family vacation and Comic Con is out of the question so maybe Disney.

I think I will start looking at #12 in a year or two because my collection is extremely small.

I do like a few older comics of Quinn and I think they will be next.

Have you looked into sketch covers or OA? A lot of artists out there draw a great Harley. :)
