in the past I always used my ebay bucks rewards to buy silver bars. Today I got my certificate but got an error saying I can't use the rewards on bullion. Is this something new?? :(

It wouldn't surprise me at all. They probably figured out what people were doing with those 4-8x eBay bucks offers. Probably why I haven't gotten them for months. If you found the sellers who listed bullion outside the unsupported category, you could get the offer applied to the item you wanted. I see they also removed gift cards as eligible to redeem for in the updates TOS. Time to shut down all the loopholes, I guess.

Will not let me use it either I also can no longer use gift cards on them.
The moves mean less sales for eBay IMO.

There was something mentioned about coins/metals and gift cards being no longer privy to Ebay bucks a little while back. I wouldn't be surprised if collectibles get added to the no go list before too long.

Already seen that in DC, was an eBay gift card with wording on the front that made me look closer. It said it could not be used for Bullion/Coins, Sportscards, and other Volatile Collectibles (paraphrase on volatile) but was good for lots of things including electronics, toys, and clothes.

They also have gone from 2% to 1% ebay bucks on purchases starting in 2017. Wonder if they're going to continue offering the random 6, 8 and 10% ebay buck specials. Might be worth only buying then if they still make those offers.

The disclaimer lists PMs excluded but says nothing about collectibles. *from the email I got saying my certificate was ready

They're getting shady with communication on these. Anyone else not even get a notification email that your eBay bucks were available for use? I mean, I knew I was getting them but, for those who don't pay attention, seems like they just hope some people might not even notice and they'll expire in 4 weeks.

Mine shows up on my drop down menu 90% of the time, and every time I go to pay its listed and asks if I want to use them.

I just bought silver last night with no issues. I read on another forum that there was a glitch for 1 night blocking precious metals from being paid for with ebay bucks. Sounds like it is not an issue now.
