Made a purchase of something before Xmas time via auction. I was the only bid. Seller shipped right away, tracking then shows delivered 20 miles away from me a few days later.

I contact seller asking if he can check the tracking number and I'll open up an inquiry with the USPS.

I hear nothing from seller, but I hear from USPS saying they got a scan of the package and it was not addressed to me at all.

I message the seller again about this and asking about my item.

Still nothing so I opened a not received case asking for the tracking or refund.

Still nothing. I drop a neg and get a refund minutes later. Still no messages back to me though.

Low and behold I check my mail that night and the damn package is there. It was shipped from Vegas but the seller is in Illinois. Totally different tracking #.

I call ebay asking about what I can do. They said I need to contact the seller. And they thanked me for being so honest. I message seller stating I want to make this right.

I still have not heard anything and I know I may have escalated it quickly but as you can see I have no help from the seller and all I wanted was a correct tracking number or to know what was going on.

1. Do I pay since I do have the sellers paypal address
2. Do I just RTS the package and wipe my hands clean? - this is what I'm thinking I should do at this point.

I ended up purchasing the item locally once I found out it wasn't sent to me so now I technically have 2 and only needed 1.

I'm trying to make this right, but the seller seems to not care, appears to just use drop shippers and might be NARU soon anyway based on recent feedback. I think he is already limited to 20 listings.

FWIW this is an under $10.00 deal

I'd return to sender in this situation and be done with it as long as that doesn't cost me anything (I don't think it does)

Can you just cancel/reverse the refund?

Seller needs to initiate a feedback removal request.

I can just put RTS on the mailer and drop it in a box. Most likely outcome. I wanted to wait a couple of days before doing that since it was dropped shipped.

cannot reverse the refund or case but I can repay directly through PP.

And yes he needs to initiate the feedback removal which I suggested he do. He still deserves a neutral for false tracking and no communication to help remedy the situation. he has a few other negatives for slow or no shipping and no communication.

I'll probably get chastised for this but here goes. Seller isn't communicating and basically is showing no concern for his business. I'd reach out, asking what he'd like to do. No response means I keep the damn thing. If you don't care enough to respond, I don't care enough that you get it back. I don't go out of my way to help someone who isn't willing to help themselves.

If the package has not been opened then just dropping it in the mailbox marked RTS takes little to no extra effort. Now if it were opened and the seller took this route then I would agree with you.
