Hey Guys -
Need some help pricing a 2012 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Autograph of Corey Seager. Anyone have any historical prices or idea what the card is worth?
Thanks in advance for the help

That's a great case for a $4,000 card...

I would take it out of that case immediately and then sleeve and top load it.

Please put that in a penny sleeve and toploader.

Yikes, I'd get it out of that snap casing and get it in a penny sleeve and toploader quick. That card could get roughed up in that thing.

A little background. This isn't the OPs card. A buddy of his breaks MAYBE five boxes a year across all products. Decided to flip through a box that was hiding in his closet and came across this Seager. He reached out to the OP and then the OP called me. I never followed Seager much, so I couldn't be very helpful. If anyone knows what one of these have sold for in the past, it would be appreciated. It looks like a gold 9.5 sold for $2600. After seeing that my guess is it would be closer to $10k vs. $5k, but again, it's completely speculation.

Honestly speaking, those corners could potentially be damaged and could knock the price down big time.
I'd say if corners are excellent 8-9K, if not 5-6k

Id guess, in raw condition with no disclosed issue it's probably gonna run off at $6-$8k. Big range but ya never know when one or 2 people really "have to have" something. When you get to values that high the buyer market generally thins out but since he's a Dodger there is probably more money than say an Astro.
I would 100% agree to get the thing graded immediately and then move it. Even if it is a 9 it just secures the grade and protects the card. Will just add protection as a seller.

Colored refractors rarely get me excited, I'm perfectly happy with the base versions.
However, holy poo, this is one gorgeous card.

It absolutely blows my mind that cards like this are just hanging out in people's homes collecting dust with almost no knowledge of their existence.

I'll let OP know. Chances are he'll be there Friday and I MIGHT show up on Saturday. Contemplating having Frank Thomas sign my Transcendent base cards.

This part is so depressing. Since 2005 I have ripped probably 75ish cases of Bowman products, and have pulled exactly ONE red refractor auto. No supers. This guy breaks five boxes a year, gets a red of the best player in that product, and it's sitting in a box for four years. In a snap case. SMDH... :(

FWIW Seager was not the best player in the product at release. He was $20-$25 per base auto in 2013.

Correct. I was in group breaks of hundreds of cases. He typically was the 8th-10th player taken in group break player drafts. Zunino, Almora, Gallo, Add Russ, Gausman, Wacha, and Courtney Hawkins typically all went before Seager. I hit a gold refractor auto of him out of a team case break during that time. I think I got $250-300 for it at the time and was happy with that sale.

I bought a BGS 9/10 gold for $250 or so. Cracked and resubbed to a 9.5/10 and set a record with a sale of $650. The sale was the week of Belmont in 2014.

That sounds about right. Mine was raw when I sold it and I actually never had it in hand. I sold it to a guy in the break before it got shipped out.
On a side note, I saw a collector at the National in Chicago ~2014 that had an INSANE Seager collection. He had 3/5 red autos and I think he had the super auto also. Something like 75 orange, gold, and blue autos combined.

Beautiful card. I'll be at the show OP if you want a cool $20 bill for it. True guess about 8k.

not possible, i've had the Seager super auto since September 2013
i do recall seeing a big Seager collection at the NSCC in 2014 - i think he wanted $2k for a red ref auto. Shortly thereafter, a very nice 9.5/10 red auto was on ebay and I believe sold for $1.5k...smh that i didn't think of going after it. as it is, i'll never finish this rainbow

4000.00 - 10,000.00 for a recently released card hmmm card collecting is crazy these days. Let alone the guy has played in the majors for one full season. Sell it while its hot :)

Got ya. It was the 2013 National in Chicago. I just couldn't remember the exact year. I had to look it up. So, that would've been a month or two before you got the card. I'm not sure if you bought it or pulled it but I vaguely remember seeing it with the incredible collection. Not 100% on that but I definitely remember the massive stack of Seager chrome autos.

I pulled a 2012 Seager Blue Refractor auto when the set first came out. Sleeved it and put it into a top loader immediately. Left it in a shoe box for years. Last year, I decided to send a bulk submission to BGS and was looking for good cards. It came back .5 from a Black label. Got 9.5 on surface. I didn't use a micro-fiber cloth to clean it up. Not sure if it would make a difference as most of these cards got 9.5 for surface anyway.

It does look like a generous centering grade. Nice card though!
