All,

I picked this up on a chance that it might be authentic. I realize that there are tons of fakes out there, but this looks pretty good compared to others I have compared. It has a UDA holo with it, but it is on the toploader. I also realize that this is normally on the card, but maybe it was done that way early on??? Anyone seen the holo not affixed to the item before? To add to the mystery, I called UDA and they confirm that it is indeed for an item signed by MJ at a camp on 7/14/99. What are your opinions???! Thanks a bunch!

Well it doesn't immediately look "bad". The part that has me worried is that UD COA attached to the top loader. My cynical side tells me that it would be too tempting to take the authentic Jordan card out and put a fake in there.

Is it worth the $100 fee to send it to PSA or JSA? That's up to you, but I'd be leaning toward yes.

I'm surprised how few comments there are on this topic there must be some of you that have a lot of experience with Jordan autos?

The auto looks ok from some that I have seen but it would need to be authenticated by PSA/DNA for it to have any value. I would recommend getting that done for sure.

Now, the sticker on the toploader does not seem like anything that UDA would have done. Obviously they know that toploaders can be changed out and would've likely had a sticker on the card to match whatever they use as an authentication comparison, which is usually one of the white cards. So, in my opinion, the sticker is to good to be true and was likely placed there by someone other than UDA.

Just my opinion, the bottom of the M is wrong, it has a sharp angle, and the J is sloping the left, something very unnatural in the motion of his signing.

The placement of the UDA sticker makes no sense at all.

Agree with hychang. Looks like a very good fake of some sort.

That's a good fake designed to fool someone who would take a low price buy hoping it was legit. Even UD wouldn't put a sticker on a top loader.

I vote that it's fake.

The UDA sticker is the give away, based on that alone probability of fake is increasing exponentialy...

The middle part of the signature looks off...

Why would someone take a sticker from a legit UDA item signed by MJ at a camp, and put it with a fake auto? Don't the scammers normally put a bogus holo with the fakes. Also, it's not like I could look up the holo and see that it was legit, it didn't come up in the database and I called UDA who said the holo was for an item signed in 1999. Wierd tactic no??? The sticker is a UD holo with stamped letters and numbers (doesn't look faked). Also, this was at a pawn shop and the only MJ item with some other graded cards, not like someone selling multiple MJ autos on ebay. Just seems a bit of an odd situation for a forger. I'll have to just take the chance prob and send it in. I only paid $25 for it on the hunch.....

Based on the following things: UD confirmed an item being signed by MJ at his camp, the quality of the signature, the pen used (thin point), and the quality/condition of the die-cut card, appropriate era. I think it's real. The M crossover is broken but I've seen this before. My guess is he probably rushes his camp signature, and the pen was starting to fade. Thus why the M and J look a bit off. Everything else looks perfect. You may want to have PSA authenticate this.
